My dog has a painless bump on his lip. Is it dog acne or concerning?

Just found this small pimple on my 2yo cockers spaniel upper lip. Honestly could be there for quite some time as it's barely noticeable when not knowing what you're lookin for. Anything to worry about, or just wipe the area with chlorhexidine wipes and keep an eye out on it ? Some kind of dog acne ? Isn't hurting him when I touch or squeeze it.

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Frodo and for providing a picture, it's very helpful. I see what you mean about the bump, it could be canine acne, but it could also be a sebaceous cyst, a benign growth like a papilloma, or an infected area. Unfortunately without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain. I do not recommend squeezing it again, don't use any wipes on it, and just keep an eye on it. If it gets bigger, it starts to bother him (you see him rubbing his face on things or using his paw to rub his face), and/or any other concerning behavior such as a lethargy or a loss of appetite, he will need to see a vet. It would be a good idea to get it checked out to be safe, but it's not an emergency. I hope this helps!

What could this be? My other dog and him play a lot but this is more of a bump of some sort like a pimple. Doesn’t seem to bother him.
Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. This looks like a wart or possibly a keratin cyst. Both of these are benign growths in the skin. I recommend monitoring this bump over the next 1-2 weeks and if it increases in size or starts to bother Roscoe, it should be examined by a veterinarian. Otherwise, if it stays the same or goes away, I would not be concerned. I hope this is helpful!

Is this acne? Or an infection?
Hi there, That does not look like acne- which is less common in dogs. That could be an infection that needs antibiotics but could also be a small mass growing on the lip- like a papilloma (wart) or another type of mass. That should be seen by a vet who can take a sample form it and give you either meds or a further recommendation.

Hi there! Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Aurora is adorable! Even though these could represent cancerous nodules, it could likely be something like dog acne. The cause of this is usually exposure to perhaps a dirty water or food bowl so a good way to prevent exacerbation of this or to prevent it from happening is by making sure her water and food bowls are clean. Sometimes, this resolves on its own by keeping her food and water bowls clean. However, if it does not resolve on its own in the next week or so, have her evaluated by your veterinarian for therapy which may include steroids and a topical antibiotics and diagnostics if on further examination, it appears to be something other than simple acne. This morning i found what looks like to be a pimple on my puppies lips. When he goes outside he likes to eat bugs and and gets all in the grass and dirt.
Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. Judging from the pictures, it appear that Butta has a small pimple like mass on the muzzle. This could be a pimple, insect bite or viral papilloma. I would recommend keeping a close eye on this and if it worsens, I would take him in to be examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Something I shoyld be concerned about?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This is possibly due to dog acne. This sometimes happens from drinking or eating from bowls that have bacteria or are not clean. You can ensure that her bowls are clean and in most cases when the inciting cause is taken away, this tends to resolve on its own. If there is no resolution in the next 1-2 weeks, have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as this could also be due to an infection which may require antibiotic therapy. As I was petting her yesterday I noticed a pimple like bump on her left side. Could this just be a bug bite? Or something more serious? Should I put anything on it?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This could be a benign or malignant growth. This could also be a bug bite or site of infection. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. You can try using a thin film of triple antibiotic in case it is truly just an infection or bug bite. Good luck and have a good day!

I noticed raised red bumps on the underside of my dogs chin

Just noticed small, red, blood filled bump on my dogs lip
The photo is a little fuzzy so its hard to say. It may be an oral papilloma, which is due to canine papillomavirus. Typically these resolve on their own, but many more may pop up over the next few weeks on his lips and in his mouth. It could also be an inflamed hair follicle or a skin infection. If its not resolving over the next few days to weeks, or if it seems to be getting worse or causing him discomfort, please take him to your vet to be evaluated. How do you tell the difference between a sore and a pimple on a dog?
Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! The area in the picture looks like an area of what I would call excoriation or skin irritation usually seen when a dog scratches an area extensively due to itching. The yellowish area can be a pimple or what we call a pustule (a pimple containing pus). Pimples and pustules are usually raised lesions, extending up from the skin. It's a little difficult making out much detail in the picture. Sometimes damaged areas of skin turn yellowish like that and are usually flat in appearance, not raised up like a pimple/pustule. I've noticed a small lump/pimple on my dog lip/chin. it is quite small and unnoticeable unless I open his mouth. it also doesn't seem to bother him. what could that be? he's 17 months old.
Hello. Small lumps like this can possibly be from some irritation, but there is no way to know definitively without an examination. If it remains small like this, does not bleed or cause any interference in his eating, then you can watch it. If it should get larger or change in any way, do contact your veterinarian.
