Thank you for the picture, it's very helpful. That looks like a roundworm. Jessie needs a deworming treatment, I recommend Drontal or Panacur. Give her a dose of Drontal or Panacur now, then another in two weeks. After that, she should get the medication once a month to prevent further issues with worms. I hope this helps!

It was likely a roundworm. It can be gross seeing these come up in the vomitus. You can give her one of two dewormers, found at your local pet or feed store: Pyrantel Palmoate or Fenbendazole. The dosage should be written right on the label; however they may be in generic form so just look for those active ingredients and you have found what she needs. YOu also want to treat her again in 2 weeks, because that is the life cycle of the worm. I would consider keeping Ace on a monthly heartworm prevention from here moving forward, because they all (except for Proheart) contain intestinal dewormer as well. HI, thanks for using Boop by Petco! It does look like an intestinal parasite. Most general dewormers get just round worms. They tend to look think like spaghetti noodles. I think your picture MAY be of a tape worm. Cestex, drontal or droncit get tape worm. Be sure to check Gizmo well for fleas, that is how they get tape worm. I would suggest taking a stool sample to the Vet to be sure you are deworming him properly. I hope this helps and I wish Gizmo the best!

If you have other dogs in the house, they could potentially come in contact with the roundworm eggs in Journey's feces and get it that way. There is the potential for the roundworms to be passed to humans as well. Ensure you are properly cleaning your hands when handling feces or cleaning up feces from Journey. You can start a deworming medication such as Bayer Quad Dewormer, which can be purchased at Petco. I hope this helps! If there is no resolution, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Journey and test her feces to see if there are any other worms present that need to be treated.

It’s probably a type of roundworm. You can use a dewormer form the pet store but I would also schedule an appointment with your vet to make sure there aren’t any other intestinal parasites that the OTC dewormers won’t cover. I would also go ahead and deworm your other pets. All of them need to be re-treated in 3-4 weeks to completely rid the worms.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Dewormer kills worms and it does so very effectively. I recommend that you have Emma evaluated by your veterinarian to start her on a dewormer. Intestinal worms are very easily treatable and usually clinical symptoms resolve. Good luck and have a good day!

It's hard to tell from the photo, but if they are round and "spaghetti-like", they are probably roundworms. Most over the counter dewormers can take care of roundworms, however your vet can also prescribe deworming medications, and you can bring in a sample of them to your vet if needed to be identified in person.

Starting Maddox on a deworming treatment was a good idea and considering the worm he threw up was long, it's likely he has roundworms. An OTC dewormer will kill them. He will need another deworming treatment two weeks after this one to kill all the worms present. After that, he will need to be dewormed every three months.

I got a golden retriever puppy from a breeder last week and she threw up a live roundworm today. She’s 11 weeks old and this is the first worm I’ve noticed.Her paperwork says she was given a worming treatment by the vet on 12/17/19. Is this common?
Because of the life cycle of worms, it takes at least two deworming treatments given two weeks apart to kill all of them. The first kills the adult present, while the second kills the worms that had not yet hatched from eggs at the time of the first treatment. You will need to give Marley another deworming treatment now, and another one in two weeks. After that, she should be given a deworming treatment once a month until she is six months of age. She should then be given a deworming treatment every three months thereafter. I hope this helps.

Hi there. You can get a broad-spectrum dewormer for dogs such as Panacur or Bayer Quad Dewormer, and give it according to the directions on the package. Nexgard is a flea/tick medication, and does not treat worms. Without knowing what type of worm it was, I can't say if it's contagious to your other dogs or not. The safest option would be to go ahead and deworm all of the dogs in the household.

Hi Jo! I'm sorry Billie is quite sick! If she is vomiting worms, it sounds like she has a heavy burden of them, and I would give her a dose of Panacur now. I highly recommend Panacur, it's a great deworming treatment. I would give her another dose in two weeks, then deworm her after another month, then every three months from there. Make sure all the pets in your home are up to date on their deworming treatments as well, as they can pass them back and forth between each other.
