Pregnant dog has bloody diarrhea after raw food. What should I do?

Hi, My dog is coming up to 5 weeks pregnant. Today she had a very watery bloody diarrhoea. I’m really worried this means she has lost her pups? She had a change to her diet last week where we tried her on raw beef but only twice in one week and not consecutive days.

Poor Flo, I see what you mean about the diarrhea. It does look pretty red in the picture. Given that you did change her diet recently to raw beef, that could be the cause of the diarrhea. The raw beef is dangerous to feed dogs, as it contains serious bacteria like E coli and Salmonella, both of with can and does make dogs sick and give them bloody diarrhea. Even just the change of diet itself can cause the diarrhea, as sudden diet changes in dogs can cause this problem. That being said, I can't say for certain what is the cause of her bloody diarrhea and because she is pregnant, I would get her checked out by a vet asap. Her health is extremely important during pregnancy, and any bloody diarrhea should always be checked out promptly by a vet. I would take her into one today. I hope this helps.

My dog gave birth 3 days ago and started having diarrhea now today she had diarrhea with mucus and blood but shes active and eating
The diarrhea could be related to eating the placentas and afterbirth, or could be a sign of another disease like intestinal parasites. I would recommend seeing your veterinarian for a physical exam and to discuss treatment for the diarrhea. While it's possible simple change like a bland diet and probiotic would be recommended it's always best to have a veterinarian take a look to make sure there's nothing more serious going on.

my bulldog is 30 days pregnant and has loose stools with blood in
It is not uncommon for bitches to take a touch of gastroenteritis during pregnancy, this leads to an upset tummy with loose motions and sometimes blood, another possibility is worms. It is best not to starve a pregnant bitch so I would try feeding her rice and chicken. If she is dull or has not returned to normal faeces in 24 hours take her to the vet because pregnant animals are more at risk than non pregnant.

Started raw food diet one week ago today pup has diarrhea and raspberry blood in stool other than the diarrhea she seems happy and energetic
It is possible it is the raw food diet diet causing Charley's bloody diarrhea. That's because raw meat carries bacteria that can make your dog sick. It could also be due to intestinal parasites, so make sure she is up to date on her deworming treatments. Withhold food for 12 to 24 hours then feed her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in a commercial dry dog food for her. I would recommend feeding the commercial day dog food diet to her because there is no risk of poisoning from bacteria, either to her or you. If Charley isn't fully vaccinated, there is a chance she could have parvovirus, but given that she is happy and energetic, it's more likely related to her diet. If she does become very lethargic or the bland diet doesn't help the diarrhea, I would take her into the vet.

My dog is 2-3 weeks pregnant now. Yesterday she vomited and now she pooped with blood on it. She is really weak and has no appetite. What should i do?
I am sorry to hear that Flirt is so sick. There are many possibilities of what could be going on, but I am concerned about colitis or even hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. The bloody diarrhea and lethargy is very concerning. Dogs with HGE can become gravely ill very quickly. I would highly encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian immediately. My small dog has recently eaten raw ground beef and is now having bloody loose stools. Whats going on?
Most dogs can tolerate a raw meal. The amount may have caused GI upset. Bad meat or fatty meat can also be the cause. Withhold food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet (1:1 ratio of plain boiled boneless chicken and plain white rice). Feed in small, frequent amounts waiting at least one hour between feedings. Continue feeding until the stool is normal. Transition slowly to the regular diet. If the diarrhea doesn’t stop or your dog becomes lethargic or exhibits symptoms of abdominal pain, see your veterinarian.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Diarrhea can be observed with conditions such as colitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Kirah evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They may choose to check for parasites and to start medications for diarrhea depending on the results. You can offer a bland diet composed mainly of chicken, rice, and lean meats like ham and turkey which may help with mild stomach upset. Good luck! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

my dog is bleeding from her vagina along with her motion.......will it affect her pregnancy??
She should not be bleeding if she is pregnant unless the blood is coming from the urinary system as opposed to her uterus. I suggest you get her to the vet for an exam. I would not be worried about the diarrhea affecting her pregnancy. If she has not been dewormed you should talk to your vet about having that done.

Is it normal for my dog which is 39 days pregnant (june 14 when she was stud and last for 3 days.) to vowel with some drops of blood in her tools.Actually the tools that she made has no smell and with some colorless and stiky thing.Is she still.pregn
Pets can have mild blood in their still following episodes of stress. I would recommend adding in a probiotic in her food daily to see if this helps. Culturelle over the counter can be used in pets as it is very similar to the pet formulated probiotics. You should give it daily for the next 7-10 days. If the blood continues past 2-3 days or if you at any point notice a lot of Frank blood or lethargy then it’s best to take Sprinkle to your nearest vet clinic right away. I am not sure what the colorless sticky thing is in her stool, by it could just be a film caused by colitis (inflamed colon). You can repost your question with a picture of it to verify. I don’t see why she wouldn’t still be pregnant at this time based on your description of events. My dog ate raw chicken and has bleeding daihrrea
Bentley needs to be examined by the veterinarian today. Bloody diarrhea is always a reason to be examined. These pets are typically require treatment which could include antibiotics, probiotics, a bland diet and something to slow down the GI transit. Have him examined today.
