My dog in heat is lethargic, vomiting, shivering. Should I worry?

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | unspayed | 8 years and 9 months old | 6 lbs

Mocha is an 8 yr old Yorkie. She just started her menstrual cycle and it is a little heavier than normal. She is having lethargy, no appetite (day 3) and vomiting white foam. Now this morning she started shivering like she’s cold. She doesn’t normally act this odd or have these symptoms on her menstrual cycle. She is still drinking water. Should I be worried?

Yes, I would be concerned she may have a fever and possibly a serious infection known as pyometra given the symptoms you describe. I recommend you have her seen as soon as possible for a full physical exam and possibly ultrasound exam to check for infection. Depending on the results, a drip and even surgery may be required.
