Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund miniature | Male | unneutered | 8 months and 10 days old | 9.5 lbs
My 9 month old dog has never gone pee outside. I've tried everything and nothing works. He used to go on his puppy pads inside, but stopped. He has started going on my couch now and I'm about to lose my mind. Does anyone have advice? What do I need to do to .ake him go outside? Is there a way I can retrain him on the pads? And HOW do I keep him from peeing on my couch? Please help!

I recommend to have Ashley neutered. Small breed, intact males are the hardest to housebreak. Then start crate training Ashley. Here is a great link: https://www.petcoach.co/article/how-to-crate-train-your-dog/ At his age, Ashley can comfortably hold his urine/feces 8-10 hours. Remove the puppy pads unless absolutely needed as this only causes confusion (is it ok to go potty in the house?). Assuming he will not potty in the crate. Take him outside for 15 minutes, if he does not potty outside, CARRY him back inside and put him back in the crate for 30-45 minutes. Then CARRY him back outside for another 15 minutes. You will repeat this until he potties outside. Praise him immensely and give him treats as soon as he potties. Then he can be free in the house. Using a leash and baby gates in the house will help to avoid him from having accidents. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.
