My dog ate raw meat burgers off the counter. What should I do?

I would not induce vomiting. JoJo could have some vomiting and/or diarrhea from the raw meat, and if you do see that, I will give you a bland diet to feed her to help her with that. Make sure she doesn't get any more! Feed her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If she refuses to eat the bland diet, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.

Poor Dobby! It sounds like the raw meat has upset his stomach, and I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. In the future, I would refrain from allowing anyone to give him raw meat. Good luck, I hope this helps!

My dog jumped up onto the counter and ate raw hamburger yesterday, now he has watery diarrhea. I'm not sure what to do. Could you please give me some advice?
I recommend feeding him a bland diet of white rice and boiled lowfat chicken breast. Small frequent feedings are best, and adding a bit of extra water (to a "gruel" consistency) will help prevent dehydration. Once his symptoms resolve, you can gradually mix in his normal food and transition him back to his kibble over a few days. If the diarrhea lasts more than 2-3 days, or if at any point he loses his appetite or starts vomiting, then it's best to see the vet, as he may need prescription medication to calm his stomach and get back on track. My small dog has recently eaten raw ground beef and is now having bloody loose stools. Whats going on?
Most dogs can tolerate a raw meal. The amount may have caused GI upset. Bad meat or fatty meat can also be the cause. Withhold food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet (1:1 ratio of plain boiled boneless chicken and plain white rice). Feed in small, frequent amounts waiting at least one hour between feedings. Continue feeding until the stool is normal. Transition slowly to the regular diet. If the diarrhea doesn’t stop or your dog becomes lethargic or exhibits symptoms of abdominal pain, see your veterinarian.

I accidentally left an Arby's burger with mayonnaise, some fries, and fried mozzarella stick out within reach. Maxi ate the stick, burger, and a couple fries. Is there anything I should be concerned about?
Maxi can get pancreatitis from this or diarrhea and vomiting. I would recommend giving her a bland diet (boiled chicken and white rice) just to calm everything down and then monitor her. If she starts vomiting, diarrhea, not eating, becomes lethargic then I recommend bringing her to a veterinarian. I will say the visit may require hospitalization and fluid support if she is dehydrated from everything. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

If it was boneless, your dog may have some vomiting or diarrhea from getting food that s/he isn't used to. If it had bones, this is more concerning. Chicken bones are brittle and break into sharp fragments that can damage the intestinal tract as it moves through. Either way, keep an eye out for vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, abdominal pain. If the chicken was boneless, don't give her any food for 12-24 hours so her gut can rest after such a rich meal and keep an eye on her. If she ate bones and shows any adverse symptoms, get her in to be seen by a vet right away.

My dog eats raw food however he has vomitted 3 times dince his last meal, should i be concerned?
Hello. Raw foods are not always the safest diets to feed because of bacterial contamination, but if Boris is otherwise feeling well, then I would not panic. Normally, I recommend keeping a vomiting dog that acts well & drinking & holding down water, off food for 12-24 hours, & restart with a bland diet of 25% boiled chicken, 75% cooked white rice or a little low fat cottage cheese. But for now, just keep him off his regular food & give him just a very small amount in 12 hours. If he continues to vomit during this fasting period, or he becomes lethargic or develops diarrhea, then it is time to see the veterinarian. I hope he is feeling better soon. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I'm sorry to hear Jasy had a vomiting issue. For any GI upset, a bland diet (such as white rice and plain boiled white meat chicken) that is easily digestible is a good option. If chicken isn't an option for her, very lean ground beef browned in a skillet with no oil is another good option. If she continues vomiting, doesn't want to eat or otherwise starts acting ill, then I would recommend having her evaluated by her regular veterinarian. Good luck!

Hello, sorry to hear about Hudson. Indeed, dietary indiscretions like eating raw ground beef can cause the signs you witnessed. Most often this is self limiting and a bland diet for the next 3-5 days should allow his GI tract to rest. You can offer a bland diet and observe him at home, if his vomiting continues or gets worse, he becomes more lethargic, or develops other signs such as diarrhea then he should be evaluated by his veterinarian. A bland diet may consist of plain white rice, skinless and boneless boiled chicken, and cottage cheese low fat. Hope this helps and best of luck.

7 month old American bulldog ate rawhide bone yesterday and puked it up then today puked up a bit of her food 6 hours after digestion
Withhold food for 12 hours then offer her boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if she is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put her back gradually on her normal food. If she continues vomiting or is not eating, take her to the vet to get treatment.
