What causes yellow eye discharge, red eyes, and a warm ear in dogs?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 22 days old | 25 lbs

rugers eyes are leaking yellow mucus like substance. It started in the left eye & is now in the right also. They are red & looks like they have a film over them. His left ear seems a bit red also & is kinda warm. He nudged away from me when I touch his ear also. What could this be? Is there a home remedy I can use or should he go to the vet?

It could be Ruger has both an eye infection causing the discharge, and an ear infection causing the red and warm ear. There are no home remedies for this, and eye and ear problems need to be checked out by a vet immediately. Leaving them untreated can lead to vision and hearing loss. He needs to go to a vet asap. Best of luck.
