Kitten sleepy, won't eat, crusty incision 5 days post-spay. Normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 5 lbs

Hello, My kitten is 6 months old and is 5 days post op from her spay surgery. She was given pain meds the first three days after surgery as prescribed by the vet. Today she seems very sleepy, slept most of the day and doesn't have an appetite. Her incision is a little crusty looking but hasn't changed much in the past few days. Im just wondering if this is normal. She is usually full of energy

If the lethargy and decreased appetite continues then you should call your vet. She may need additional medications to help treat the problem. She might need more pain medications or an antibiotic to treat infection.
