Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 1 year old | 60 lbs
I am worried my dog (1 year old lab / hound mix, 60 lbs) swallowed a bison bone. It was a ~1.5" diameter bone with rounded bitten edges by the time he got it off the rope, and I haven't been able to find it. If he ate it, will he be able to pass it? I am worried about blockage and I don't know if the edges (similar chewed bone attached in photo) could cause internal damage. Thank you!

He may be able to pass it. If so, it should come out within the next 12-36 hours. The only way to know for sure if he ingested it would be to have him x-rayed. It will show up on an x-ray. In the meantime, monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, straining to defecate or vomit, loss of appetite or abdominal pain. These are symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER should they develop.
