My kitten was too active after spay surgery. Is her incision okay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 5 months and 5 days old | 7 lbs

My kitten was spayed 6 days ago. I caved and let her out free in the house to play with her cat siblings. I put her back up after I felt she was too active. Is her incision ok?

Hello, The incision overall appears fine with some mild swelling. Continue to keep Buns rested and do not let her lick at the incision at all. If it becomes more swollen, red, warm, or oozy, please have her rechecked by her veterinarian. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
