My cat has been shaking when he breathes in and has had a major change in attitude

If this has happened suddenly it may be a sign of pain and your cat should be seen by a vet as soon as possible. Any abrupt change in attitude or behavior is reason enough to get him seen by a vet, the additional shaking concerns me and makes me wonder if he's gotten into something he shouldn't have, if he's been in a fight and has an abscess coming up someplace, has a fever or an injury you aren't aware of, some kind of infection, there are a number of possibilities. Your vet will do an exam, some lab work, maybe x-rays of they think he needs them, and based on their findings, will be better able to tell you what is wrong and how best to treat it.
