Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | 16 years and 5 months old
Hello, Can you please tell me how to treat our 16 year old cat with inflammatory disease? What should I feed him? The vet said to give rabbit and potato cat food or duck. He does not like it. He had an ultrasound. He gets diarrhea from the ibd. He takes b12 pills daily. There is slight weight loss. His appetite is good. Any recommendations you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Sincerely, Linda & Joseph Luongo

Often IBD needs to be treated with immune suppressant medications and a hypoallergenic diet. There are several different brands and options available, you will need a prescription for them through your vet. Purina HA and Hill’s z/d are good options. Here is an article that discusses these treatment options in more detail: https://www.petcoach.co/cat/condition/inflammatory-bowel-disease-1/
