My dog has a red bleeding bump near her vulva. What should I do?

My dog has a red pimple between his butt and vaginal area. It bleeds when I squeeze it during cleaning.

I see what you mean about the bump. It could be a cyst or a small infected area. Squeezing it will only make it worse and prevent it from healing. You need to have Sweetie seen by a vet to have this diagnosed and treated. Please take her into the vet in the morning. Best of luck.

This looks like a typica skin wart/skin tumor or cyst. Since it has been present for so long and has not grown at all, it is probably benign (non cancerous). It looks as if the area has been irritated somehow, probably by your dog scratching at it, and is now bleeding and may be infected. Or, if it is a cyst, the white material may just be cystic exudate. I would recommend cleaning the area with some dilute hydrogen peroxide then applying some antibiotic ointment to help prevent infection and to help it heal more quickly. Occasionally these need to be removed but only if they are a constant source of irritation or infection for the dog. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Boop by Petco. Best of luck!

Hi :) There's redness right above the genitalia of my dog. Should I be alarmed?
It is difficult to see from the photo when I try to enlarge it but it looks as though there may be a tumor (mass) above the vulva. That does not look normal. I would suggest you get her to a vet for an exam. I don't think it is an emergency but I would try to get her examined in the next few days. Hope this helps.

Hi, my dog has a small bump that looks like it was bleeding. I tried taking a damp paper towel and cleaning it but it's still very red.
IT could be a small infection, it could also be a lump (tumor), i recommend not touching it and just keeping an eye on it in the next couple weeks, if it does not resolve or gets bigger- take Gunner to the vet in order to get it treated.

It could be an abscess, it could also be a tumor, you must take him to the vet in order to get that treated, the fur in that area must be clipped off completely, the wound needs to be cleaned and analysed. if it is an abscess a course of antibiotics will solve the problem.

my dog has an enlarged red bump on her bum and it is very swollen and looks irritated, she also keeps liking it
Poor girl! This could be a number of things from a benign tumor, an infection, a cancerous tumor and much more. I would first put a cone collar on her to prevent her from licking it or it will only get worse. Since the bump is really swollen and obviously bothering her, I would have your vet take a look at it. Your vet will be able to determine what it is and recommend the best treatment for her. They will likely put her on antibiotics and may or may not recommend to have it surgically removed. It sounds like that lump is a sebaceous cyst. Benign but will not ever go completely away without surgical removal. I would not consider this an emergency. Just keep it clean until you can get Sadie back to your vet for a recheck and to talk about removing it. Don't use peroxide to clean it. My dog got what looked like a pimple on her face yesterday but it continues to grow. Now it is fairly large and I think she is scratching it because it is now raw and bleeding a little. It grew pretty fast as this all showed up yesterday afternoon. I
This could be caused by a couple of different things, and unfortunately, it's not possible to tell exactly what it is from the picture. It could be an infection, glandular cyst, or a type of skin cancer. Given that Isabelle is a light-colored dog and is older, I would want to rule-out skin cancer as the cause, because this could get much worse if not treated promptly. In order to get an accurate diagnosis, a vet will need to examine this and do some testing. They can also give some medication to control infection and/or inflammation. This is not an emergency, but it would be good to take her to the vet within the next day or two. I hope that helps and Isabella gets better soon.

My 9 week old female puppy showed little pin size bumps around her vaginal area during the day. The bumps are now almost pea size and are bluish red in colour, so I’m guessing blood filled. What can they be and what should I do?
This could be a sign of puppy pyoderma, trauma (is she licking the area a lot?), insect bites, or signs of a viral infection/fever, rodenticide ingestion, a congenital or acquired disorder affecting the platelet's ability to adhere to damaged blood vessels. If these blood "blisters" keep enlarging or do not go away within a few days, you will need to consult your veterinarian. The vet will perform a thorough physical examination. Lab tests will be necessary such as a complete blood count, biochemistry profile, and urinalysis and possibly a coagulation panel. There is no specific treatment for those blood filled skin lesions, however it is important to find the underlying cause, which then can be addressed. So, I suggest you monitor the skin and if the lesions enlarge, or if they do not go away within a few days or spread, you take your puppy to your veterinarian. If your puppy gets pale gums it is an emergency and your pup needs to be seen at an ER right away.

Poor Violet! I am concerned by your description that she has a weird odor to her eyes. That suggests an ear infection to me, and it could be in the deeper parts of her ear, leaving the outer ear normal in appearance and making you think they are fine. That would also cause her to scratch her ear vigorously, causing the bump. I do recommend having Violet seen by a vet on Monday. The vet can examine her ear and determine if she does have an ear infection. Should she have one, the vet can treat her for it. I hope this helps!

hi so my 3 year old pug Chihuahua mix has a lump on her right butt bone area she had parco before h dont know if that could have anything to do with it . but she already had it opened and we drained some of the fluid and it was like a brownish color
It sounds like this could be an abscess, but if there is brownish fluid and the lump was located right near her anus, I would be concerned that Chata had an impacted anal sac and that was opened. I would take her into the vet immediately. This area needs to be flushed and cleaned sterilely, and she will likely need antibiotics to prevent infection. Please take Chata into a vet now.
