Why does my cat have bald patches and scratch marks on his fur?

Hello i have a cat 1 year old, British shorthai, he has been getting these bald patches on his fur with like scratch marks or bite marks am not sure. Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Male | neutered | 9 lbs

Ouch! That area looks pretty irritated. I would have Titus checked out by your vet to rule out issues such as fungal or bacterial infections, or an allergy to food or environment that may be causing scratching or itching that is causing the wounding on the skin. If you have other cats, watching to see if they are fighting and causing injury is another good idea. Keeping the area clean and dry, and placing an Elizabethan (cone) collar on Titus is also good to prevent secondary infection and reduce irritation of the affected area until you can be seen.
