My dog's fur fell off revealing a spot. What is this and should I worry?

My boyfriend felt something on my dogs fur and we saw this spot. A small clump of her fur fell off revealing this spot. Is this something we should be concerned about?

Thank you for the picture, it's very helpful. It looks like a scab, and it may be from an injury. In the picture, the skin doesn't look infected and I don't see any concerning signs. I'd just keep an eye on it for now and if it does appear infected, then you should have Molly seen by a vet. I hope this helps!

My dog has a bald spot on her right thigh. She doesnt scratch it or anything I'm just concerned about it.
It is difficult to tell from just the picture, but this could be a scar. If the skin looks smoothe and shiny, then it is likely a scar. From the picture, the skin doesn't look red, irritated, or infected. If she isn't bothered by it and it isn't inflamed, then I would continue to watch it. If the area of hairloss gets larger, becomes red, or starts to bother her, I would have a vet take a look at her. They may do some diagnostics to ensure there isn't any problem that needs to be treated. I hope this helps!

I found this on the back of his neck and I have no idea what it is. It's scabby, crusty, and flakes off. Looks like there's a wound underneath? Doesn't seem to cause him any pain or discomfort that I can see.. What is it and what could've caused it?
The pictures are a little blurry, but it could be that Sandy injured himself causing the scab. I would leave it be for now, and keep an eye on it. If it doesn't heal, spreads, appears infected (red, swollen, warm to the touch, you see pus), or it begins to bother him, then I would have it checked out by a vet. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

This happend to my dog three days ago and I have no idea what it is!!!
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It could be a scab that fell off, a fungal infection, a bacterial infection, or a mite. It looks quiet right now. I would leave it alone and continue to monitor it. If it’s starting to get larger or Luna won’t leave it alone, I would have a vet take a closer look. Kisses to Luna!

I have found several scabs on my dogs neck and body. What are these———————————————— Pictures below, I know it’s not a tick I don’t see any legs and there is hair in the scab
This looks like a scab. He could have gotten this after a little bug bite, a local skin infection, a minor injury from being in the yard, or something else. Since it is so small, I would not be too concerned right now. If it isn't healing, you see discharge, you find more spots, or this spot gets larger, I would have your vet take a look at it to see if he needs any oral meds or other treatment to help it heal. It looked like she had a tuft of hair. When I pulled it her skin cane with it. The skin attached to the hair was brown and scabby. The bald patch is not hot, pussy, irritated or showing any signs of infection. What causes this?
We commonly see an overgrowth of normal bacteria on the skin cause crusting and scabbing. When this happens around and in the hair follicles, the hair will easily fall out. When a dog has a thick coat, the crusting can spread under the coat and go unnoticed. From your picture, it looks like this area may be over the hip/pelvis. In older dogs, when their bones are more prominent, they will sometimes have areas like that due to lying on harder surfaces. These can become pressure sores, so be sure to keep an eye out for those. I agree that the area does not look irritated, but there is still some brown crusting left, so be sure to monitor the area closely for any spread of the crusting. If the crusting spreads or the skin appears red, be sure to have your vet evaluate the area. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

He woke up this morning with this. It doesn’t look too bad but should I take him to the vet just to be sure ?
I can't tell from the photo if that is a scab or an area of skin discoloration. I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian to be safe. If that is something like a bruise, that is extremely worrisome. A scab could indicate something like an infection or a hot spot. Best to play it safe and have this checked out. I hope this helps.

Dog's hair falling out in one spot
Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Sammy and for providing a picture, it's very helpful. In the picture, I swear I see some dry, flakey skin. I'm wondering if he has a skin infection causing the hair loss and flakey skin. Without seeing him in person, I can't make a definitive diagnosis. I would have him seen by a vet to have this diagnosed and treated. Give his vet a call to make him an appointment. I hope this helps!

I found this on my dog it feels like dried skin should I peel it off?
No, I would leave it alone. It looks like it could be a scab, and it may fall off on it's own. Peeling it off could open up a wound again or hurt your dog. Better to leave it be and have it fall off naturally. I hope this helps!

This spot is near my dogs throat. Is it harmful?
This could be from an injury. These pictures are a little blurry, but it looks scabby. I would keep an eye on for now. If it gets bigger, doesn't heal, or start to bother Bacchus, have him seen by a vet. Best of luck.

I just noticed a skin irritation with alot of flaky particles, not really sure if it's skin or not. I tried to get touch it and remove some of it and his hair is coming out in clumps. 5yo blue heeler with no known health problem.
Hi there, Thanks for the picture. It appears the wound itself is superficial, but with all the skin flakes, I worry there could be some type of skin infection involved. If he is itchy and bothered by that area, that raises my suspicion for an infection or other skin problem. I'd have him seen by his regular veterinarian this week for a physical, and they will guide you best on diagnostics or treatments after seeing him. In the meantime, you can clean the area with warm saline or epsom salt water and then let it dry. I wouldn't apply any ointments as sometimes these can trap and worsen an infection if present.
