Why is my 7-month-old kitten obsessively licking his front paw?

My 7 month old kitten continuously licks his front right wrist to the point of it being wet with saliva. This has been going on for two weeks or so. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 7 months and 11 days old | 8 lbs

Obsessive licking can be caused by pain (such as arthritis), skin disease (such as a skin infection or allergy flares), or be psychological/behaviorally motivated.
