From the picture it may seem slightly open, but just superficially (skin). This will heal very quickly and it does not seem any vet's intervention is needed at this stage. Please keep in touch with us in the next few days to give us some follow up informations. More pictures would be required to evaluate better this wound.

It is actually fairly common for the incision to be raised after a spay due to swelling and tension along the skin. I think this looks relatively normal, but if Mune seems excessively painful, or if you notice redness or discharge you may want to have your vet take a look.

Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Some scabbing around the incision site can be normal as the skin heals. If the stitches are internal, the small bit of stitch you are seeing may be an internal stitch coming through which may not be a concern at this point. If she had external sutures, these should have been taken out about 10-14 days after her surgery. I hope this helps!

Yes, it's closed and doesn't look infected. The incision has a scab and puckering from the internal stitches. It will smooth out and disappear over the next few weeks. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care Mia.
