My dog has strawberry jam-like diarrhea and won't eat. What's wrong?

Hi, my dog has diarrhea that looks like strawberry jam. She seems fine otherwise but won't eat.

It's pretty serious that Foxy's diarrhea that looks like strawberry jam (that tells me there is blood in it), and that she won't eat. Because of this, a home remedy is not recommended. She should see a vet immediately as this could be caused by something serious such as hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Best of luck.

    Strawberry jam like feces can be a sign of colitis or hemorrhagic gastro-enteritis. Both are serious conditions that need to be investigated and treated by a veterinarian. This can indeed be stress induced. Both is painful, and your dog will need pain medicine, antibiotics and fluids, and possibly hospitalization. Please take her to a vet today.
