Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 6 months old | 8 lbs
Last night, our cat delivered 3 healthy kittens, but it appeared there was only one *very large* placenta (larger than the kittens). She ate it quickly and everything seemed fine, but her belly is swollen and it seems something is still inside. She is very active, eating/drinking. But began panting/crying 3 hrs ago. The vet cant see her til morning & said it sounds like she's stable if she isn't lethargic. She suddenly wants to go outside & is pacing and crying. Is this interrupted labor??

Hello. It is very possible that this is interrupted labor, but this is actually very uncommon. The issue here is not knowing if she still has kittens within her, or is she just reacting to the involution or shrinking down of her uterus, a normal process after giving birth. If Precious has been very calm & content caring for her litter, I would be concerned that she now seems to be in some distress. If she has been doing this for 3 hours, she needs to be evaluated now to make sure there are no additional kittens that for some reason she is unable to deliver, or something else is going on like uterine torsion. If your regular vet does not seem concerned, then I would recommend calling around or getting her to an emergency clinic rather than leaving her in obvious distress until tomorrow morning. I do hope Precious does well & thanks for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
