Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | neutered | 7 years and 7 months old | 12 lbs
What are the signs of UTI in a dog? My Romeo pees around 5 times a day. He’s a 12 pound Shih Tzu. Sometimes he doesn’t pee as much volume than as usual but it’s not dribbling or leaking out. He doesn’t appear to be straining. He isn’t drinking as much water either but hasn’t been in hot weather. His urine is yellow and clear - not cloudy . I was just concerned about the volume output. I didn’t know if this was a reason to be concerned.

Great question! Signs of a UTI in dogs include straining to pee, peeing in small amounts or not at all, peeing multiple times in a row with very little coming out, a frequent need to go out all the time, and lethargy. From your description, it doesn't sound like Romeo has a UTI, and at this point in time, I would not be worried. If you see any of the signs I mentioned above, then I would be worried and have him seen by a vet. I hope this helps!
