My cat's poop is black after vet, meds, and new food. Is it blood?

My cat went to vet because she was vomiting clear liquid with foam and had diarrhea. She was given an antibiotic, probiotic, and hookworm meds. Her poop though has been black and normal consistency. Vet tech said the new food (I changed her food) may be making her poop black and blood would be bright red, but doesn't upper GI bleeding cause black poop? They saw her poop in the fecal sample for worms test. Would they have known/noticed there was digested blood in poop from the worm test?

Hello. Digested blood will give the stool a tarry appearance & consistency, very different from the consistency of normal stool. My guess the probiotics, new food & wormer have all contributed to the odd stool color. It should normalize within a week or so as things have a chance to get back to normal.
