Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Milo. You should wash him no more than once a month unless very dirty. You do not want to wash him too often as it will strip his skin of its natural oils and lead to dry skin. That being said, if he is very dirty, you can wash him right away. I hope this helps!

He should be bathed no more than once every 4-6 weeks. Use a pet approved shampoo for puppies. You can use plain, unscented baby wipes or pet wipes to spot clean him in between baths and as needed. An essential fatty acid supplement, usually a fish oil, can be added to the diet to promote healthy skin and coat. Product choices include EicosaCaps, DermCaps or Welactin.

Hi there and thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is true that over bathing may cause dryness and can be irritating to the skin. However, sometimes dogs with skin allergies and bathed very frequently and it actually helps them. So you may need to monitor Bear and see if frequent bathing causes any dryness or redness to his skin. There are several products on the market that are more like dry shampoo or mousse that you could brush through Bear's coat to eliminate some of the dirt and odor. If necessary you can also bathe Bear every one to two weeks, but please do it less frequently if you notice any dryness or redness of the skin related to bathing.

How often should you bathe your pup/dog? So far I've only bathed him once and that was due to him rolling in his poop.
Hi there! Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Even though you could potentially bathe him once monthly, this is generally not needed and you could do it every other month. You could consider waterless shampoo which you can get at your local pet store. This allows you to bathe him without the use of water at times that he gets dirty like that in between regular baths. Hi. I would recommend bathing once every week to every other week. And i would recommend using a good oatmeal based shampoo and conditioner. Your veterinarian most likely has a great shampoo option . In addition, vit E and omega Fatty acids may help as well. These can be found at your local per store. I would not use human products.

How many times am I supposed to get my 2 month old puppy a bath
Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. Your puppy should not need a bath unless she becomes excessively dirty from being outside. If you want to bathe her, I recommend no more than once every 2 weeks, using a puppy-safe shampoo and taking care not to get soap in her eyes. I hope this is helpful!

Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Puppies tend to get into things and get dirty when eating or outside. I would advise spot bathing any areas that need immediate attention, but I would space out bathing as much as possible. Too frequent bathing can dry out the skin and haircoat and cause other problems. I advise getting an oatmeal shampoo without soap or detergent for maintenance bathing. Leave the lather on for 10 minutes and rinse really well. Dried shampoo on the skin and haircoat can be very irritating. I would try to space out the baths to every 4 or more weeks. You could use waterless shampoo or some bath wipes in between bathing. Good luck

Aw Snoopy is adorable! Yes you can bathe him but I would use something very gentle like a puppy shampoo. I do not recommend using a flea shampoo as these can sometimes be too strong for puppies. You can bathe him every 2-3 weeks unless he gets really muddy/stinky and needs a bath otherwise. I hope this helps!

How often should I bathe molly? Is it only when she gets into something? I think she is double coated but I dont know how to tell. Also, should i use dark fur shampoo because shes brown and black hair
Great questions! Unless Molly gets into something, she doesn't need to be bathed more than once a month. That's because bathing her too often can strip her skin of her natural oils and dry it out. It's fine to use a dark fur shampoo, just make sure it's formulated for dogs :-)

I have been bathing my puppy 2 times a week because she gets stinky. Is that bad? Should I just bathe her once a week? And what kinds of shampoos should I use? Right now I'm using Hartz tearless puppy shampoo is that ok?
I typically recommend bathing no more than once every week or every 2 weeks unless there is a skin condition requiring frequent medicated baths. If Luna’s skin is not becoming dried out or irritated the frequency of bathing and the type of shampoo you are using is probably fine. If Luna is itchy, her skin is red or flakey, or if she has an unusual odor, she may have a skin condition. If this is the case she needs to have an examination done by your veterinarian to address her skin issues. She may need a medicated shampoo and antibiotics or an antifungal medication to help clear up the infection. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Boop by Petco. Best of luck.

How often can I bathe my little puppy?
Congratulations on your new puppy! My best opinion would be the less you bathe Twix the better. Twix has natural oils secreted by his skin that help ensure a healthy coat of fur. The more these oils are washed away, the drier his skin and coat will be. I would not bathe him more then once a month if you can manage it. Obviously puppies can be dirty little creatures, so of course if you have to do so more often he will be fine. However, his best skin and coat health would be from infrequent baths.
