My dog has a small red growth near its eye. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Pinscher | Male | neutered | 2 years and 6 months old | 14 lbs

Should I get this checked out by a vet in person. It’s a small red growth that appeared about 3 days ago. Thank you!

It’s not an emergency, but I would recommend having a vet check it out. Due to its location near the eye, if it continues to grow it will be more difficult to remove later. The vet may have a better idea as to what it is after examination, or may collect a needle sample for evaluation under a microscope.
