My hamster has a red, fast-growing lump with white spots. What's wrong?

Hello. My 2 - 2.5 yr old syrian hamster has a big reddish lump (ca. 1-2 cm in diameter) on his bottom that seems to grow fast. On it i detected two spots that looked like whiteheads. The first time I noticed it, was maybe less than a week ago. Is it a tumor or sth else i need to worry about?

It is hard to tell from the photo, but rapid growth like that, along with a scab or plug can sometimes indicate an infection/wound that isn't healing properly and has abscessed. Tumors and other growths/diseases may also cause rapid growth as well. I would have Bruskur seen by your vet so they can take a sample of what's inside the growth to see if it's infection, potential tumor cells, etc to determine what the best course of action is (surgical removal, drainage of material, medications, etc). Until you can get to your vet, keeping the area clean and dry and keeping Bruskur's bedding and environment as clean as possible can help, but if it's growing super fast a vet visit ASAP is needed.
