My puppy is pawing at his mouth with a loose tooth. How can I help?

My 5 month old westie puppy is pawing at his mouth and biting trying to get a loose tooth out. He is clearly very uncomfortable. What can i do to help him? Pet's info: Dog | West Highland White Terrier | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 27 days old | 12 lbs

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Fergus. Poor boy. If he will let you, you can gently reach in his mouth and try to pull the tooth out. If he is very painful or you are afraid that he will bite you, don't try it. Instead, take him into a vet immediately to get the tooth r removed. I hope this helps!
