Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Kitty. If you think she ate a carvedilol pill, you need to get her into a vet immediately. It can take a few hours to see signs, but it can cause severe drops in blood pressure that can be life-threatening. Please take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

Hello. This was a very low dose for your dog to ingest, plus a one time accidental dosing would not be worrisome either. You have nothing to worry about & should see absolutely nothing in your pet. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

dog (5kls) accidentally ate my other dog's enalapril (.25mg).what should i look out for? he's 2 yrs old with no heart condition at all.
The dose for dogs is 0.5mg per kg. Enalapril comes in 2.5mg tablets so did Charlie eat 2.5mg or 0.25mg? If he only at 0.25mg he probably will have no ill effects. If he ate 2.5mg then he could have some side effects. Things to watch out for: low blood pressure, increased urination, decreased appetite, vomiting, sudden lethargy or weakness.

My dog may have gotten into some foxglove. I am wondering how long it would take to see symptoms?
Symptoms tend to occur very quickly (within minutes to hours) of ingestion and can be very serious. If you observed him eating any of the plant I would contact your emergency clinic and advise them of the situation as he will need to be treated urgently if any signs develop - panting/rapid heart rate/tremors etc

I may have given dog an extra dose of enalapril by accident. I counted pills and might be one off. He is a 64 lb border collie taking it bc if extra protein in urine. He takes a 10mg pill every 12 hrs.

Other signs include lethargy, excess salivation, increased heart rate, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, and cough. If you see any of those signs, rush him into a vet immediately. I hope this helps!

my chihuha just ate two of my high blood pressure pills what could happen to him
Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. I'm very concerned that Sony could become markedly hypotensive (very low blood pressure) after taking these pills. Given that he is a chihuahua, the mg/kg dose that he ingested is most likely a VERY large overdose and could be fatal. I recommend attempting to make him vomit as soon as possible by administering hydrogen peroxide to him orally. You may give him a teaspoon (you may have to use a turkey baster to help get it in his mouth) to try to make him vomit. If he does not vomit after 10 minutes, you may try giving him another teaspoon. Ultimately if this is unsuccessful, I recommend bringing him to your nearest emergency veterinarian as soon as possible. That way, a veterinarian can use medication that is injectable to induce vomiting. He/she can also administer medications to try to reduce absorption of this medication and prevent it from having its dangerous effects. Again, I am very concerned about Sony. I hope this is helpfu

If our dog possibly ate a 04 mg nitroglycerin tablet would he react to it immediately. What should we watch for our dog weighs 24. Lbs
I think Gibbs more than likely will be okay. Nitroglycerin tablets are not very bioavailable when ingested since they are intended to be held under the tongue and absorbed through the mouth. If Gibbs quickly swallowed one it might not affect him at all. If it sat in his mouth some could become absorbed, and in that case it would affect him pretty quickly. The main side effect would be low blood pressure which might not be very obvious at home, although you could see weakness or lethargy. How long would it take for symptoms of toxicity to kick in to my 25-30 pound dog after eating a 200 mg ibuprofen? It has been about an hour and a half since she possibly took it and she's been fine, no loss in appetite or (seemingly) no upset stomach
Hi there and thanks for posting. Ibuprofen has a narrow margin of safety in dogs and cats. Based on Sadie's weight, she may have received 18mg/kg which is below the toxic dosage in dogs. However, dogs can be very sensitive to this drug, even at small dosages. Sometimes onset of symptoms can be immediate (1-4 hours after ingestion) or can be be delayed for a day or two. It depends on the pet and how much was consumed. Please keep an eye out for vomiting, diarrhea, blood in the vomit, increased urination, increased thirst or any other behavioral change and take Sadie to an emergency veterinary clinic if you see any of the above signs. My 45lb dog ate about 10 of my 75mcg levothyroxine. It's likely been 3 or 4 hours since she ate them and isnt showing any signs of being I'll. Should I be worried?
Since it has been several hours, inducing vomiting will not help. Dogs take higher doses of thyroid medications than humans do, so it is likely that Roxy will be fine. He may develop some stomach upset. Monitor for rapid heart rate, panting and restlessness or hyperactivity. These are symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER. You can also contact the Pet Poison Helpline ( https://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/ ). My dog ate 12 hours ago my mom's expired liver pills, and she told me just now about it!! She says that the medicine was called Epalit. I am very concerned, what should I do? Is there any danger?
I'm sorry to hear that! We would love to help; however I cannot find any medication with the name Epalit. Is there a way you can verify the name of the medication that she got into? I'm not sure if there was a typo perhaps? Also, please let us know the milligrams of the mediation and about how many there were. We can better advise you then! The other option would be for you to call the ASPCA poison control center with that information. They will be able to give you a very clear, very definitive knowledge of whether or not this is problematic, what to expect, and whether or not to go to the vet. There is a $65 charge, but their information is extremely valuable and we, as veterinarians, use their toxicologists advice and knowledge on these cases all the time. Since its been 12 hours, there's really not going to be a benefit to inducing vomiting, as the pills would have already gone through her stomach.
