Why is my dog not moving, screaming, tail down, and eating poop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | unspayed | 2 years old | 3 lbs

Hey there ! My dog angel suddenly lowered her tail and won't really move, she's just sitting on the floor looking up at me (it's 1:15 am). I tried to pick her up but she screamed? i fed her some yogurt earlier just a bit and sometimes i feed her fruit and veggies ( very small amounts ). Side note tho i turned the light on and her tail went up but she still wouldn't move? and also she keeps eating her poop?? she does"t do it when i'm looking she's 2. Also i only had her for 6 months

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Angel. I'm concerned she could be in pain for some reason causing the reluctance to move and screaming when picked up. Keep a close eye on her tonight and if she is still this way in the morning, take her into a vet. Please do not give her any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. As for eating her poop, that is very common. So gross, but common. Pick up her poop right after she goes so she cannot eat it. I hope this helps!
