My puppy had shots. When can she safely go on grass outside?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

We have a 14 week old Boston terrier. She just had her third set of shots today. The only one she doesn’t have is rabies. We live in an apartment complex and want to know if we can introduce her to grass yet?

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question. It's great question! Wait 10 days after the shot, and then it's safe to introduce her to grass. The 10 days is needed for her immune system to be stimulated. Be sure to get her rabies as soon as possible, as it's required by law. I hope this helps!
