Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Pua. It could be she got bit. Without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain. The best thing to do for her is have it checked out by a vet. The vet can diagnose it and can treat it as needed. I hope this helps!

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This is probably from him rubbing his nose against a cage or something like that. I would suggest checking on that possibility. Otherwise, if that is not possible and this continues have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment to check on a possible infection. Best of luck!

Hello and thanks for using Boop by Petco!! Sorry to see that Tiger has this lesion. It’s possible that this is a localized skin infection with some deeper swelling and involvement. That would be called a pyoderma and these lesions can be superficial or even a little deeper. This could be a primary skin problem or secondary to trauma, abrasion, allergies, exposure to ectoparasites (fleas/ticks), or even a tumor. I would advise anything lasting more than a few days to a week and not getting better, would need an exam by your veterinarian to assess. Hopefully this resolves over the next few days but if it’s not getting smaller/better, I would advise Tiger seeing your veterinarian. Thank you and good luck!

Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. I agree with you that it may just be an allergic reaction. Allergies are very common in pugs. Since she does not seem bothered by it I would not do anything. Just keep an eye on that spot and if it doesn't go away or gets worse then have your vet check her out.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Pretty Girl. She could have sustained a wound to her nose. In this case, it should heal within several days. If it is not healing, then it may indicate a growth on her nose or the beginnings of an autoimmune skin disease. She would need to see her veterinarian to differentiate between these two causes. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! From your picture it looks like an area of pigment loss. It could be from scraping the nose, a healing wound, or seasonal. I’d watch it and it a larger area develops have your Vet examine him. I hope his helps!

This spot just appeared on our dog's nose area. We are unsure if it's a burn or exposure to a chemical. Please advise.
Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. Judging from the picture, this looks like it could be a skin infection (fungal or bacterial). I would recommend having a veterinarian examine the area so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. An oral antibiotic or antifungal may be needed along with topical therapy. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. If you are unable to get to your veterinarian right away, you can try and use Malacetic conditioning spray, which can be found online quite easily and apply twice daily until resolved. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This is likely a normal change in pigmentation which does not warrant further treatment at all. It could also be a healing superficial laceration. If not associated with itchiness or discomfort, this is unlikely to require any therapy at all. If you notice any discharge, itchiness or discomfort, have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck!

Hi, my rotweiller has all of a sudden lost pigmentation under her nose , was fine when I went to work and was likes this when I got home , is this something serious? Should I take her to the vet? Should I wait and see ? Thanks
Hello and thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. It could be due to acne development or other local allergic or inflammatory reaction. As long as this area is not painful and is not bothering your dog, you can monitor her at home for the weekend. However, if the area is sore or is bothering your dog, you should take her to your local vets tomorrow.

Hi, so I'm really concerned with my brothers dog, about a week ago he had a very sore looking spot next to his nose, and now its grown quite a bit
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This could be a benign or malignant growth. There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. Dog has discoloration on nose and redness under bottom lip
