Poor Fluke! As Dr. Rebecca mentioned, common causes of diarrhea in puppies include viruses (such as parvovirus), parasites and an upset stomach from eating something unusual. Puppies are much more susceptible to the effects of dehydration and low blood sugar than adult dogs, so diarrhea is more of an urgent problem in young pups than it is in adult dogs. For this reason, it's important to try to get Fluke to his vet for further evaluation. Until you can get him to the vet, you can try offering him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice for a few days before gradually mixing his puppy food back in over another 5-7 days. Be sure that Fluke is drinking plenty of water to maintain his hydration. You can also try to mix additional water in with his bland diet. If Fluke is lethargic, the diarrhea gets worse, he refuses to eat or begins to vomit, the need for his vet visit becomes even more urgent. I hope that he feels better soon!

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Any puppy with diarrhea has the potential to be very ill. Parasites, parvo virus or other viruses can cause diarrhea in puppies and they can become dehydrated quickly. I would recommend a vet visit for Fluke.
