Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Hazel. Unfortunately it's illegal for us to prescribe medication without seeing her in person. You cannot get a prescription online. If she does have an ear infection, she will have to see a vet to get it treated. It's very important to take her into a vet as leaving this untreated can lead to hearing loss. Best of luck.

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. You could try Zymox, which you can find online quite easily. However, the concern with just starting an ear medication without examining the ear canals is that you may be administering ear medications in an ear with a ruptured ear drum. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Luna so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! My dog hs a pre existing condition,he was diagnosed before with pyoderma in his skin. He got redness,spots underneath,he was give cephalexin in the past I’m trying to order the meds online without prescription.He has the same symptoms

Unfortunately we cannot give a prescription for these medications, it's illegal for us to do so without seeing him in person. You will need a prescription to get these medications, and in order to get that, you will have to take him into the vet. I'd make an appointment for him to be seen in the next couple of days. My dog has a severe yeast infection. We have had steroid shots and short term oral antibiotics, but none have helped. Can I get a script for fluconazole?
Unfortunately, by law it is illegal for the experts at Boop by Petco to give a prescription for any drug without seeing the animal in person first. That's because doing so requires a veterinary client patient relationship which cannot be achieved via an internet forum. In addition, the experts cannot say for certain if a specific drug is safe for your dog. You will need to take Cosmo into your vet to get a prescription for fluconazole.

Poor Bailey! I'm sorry to hear that she's having this problem. It does sound like she probably has an ear infection of some kind, from what you describe. Unfortunately, I'm afraid there is nothing you can get over the counter that will be helpful - ear infections require prescription medication to treat effectively, so there's really no way around taking her to the vet. I would recommend calling and talking with the vet before bringing her in, to make a plan for the best way to have her seen with minimal stress. It sounds like she may need to be sedated in order for the vet to examine her and clean and medicate her ears safely - this can be done easily with a quick injection in most cases. Once she is asleep, the vet can do a thorough exam, clean her ears, and apply medication to treat the infection.

Unfortunately, it is illegal for the experts at Boop by Petco to give the dose information for any drug without seeing an animal in person first. In addition, oral antibiotics are not used to treat ear infections in dogs. A dog's ear has a poor blood supply, and the concentrations in the blood will not be enough to treat the infection. Finally, an ear infection in a dog can also be caused by ear mites and yeast, not just bacteria, so antibiotics may not be the correct treatment for it. You will have to take Spike into the vet first thing in the morning. The vet can confirm he does have an ear infection, diagnose what is causing the infection, and can prescribe medication to treat it. Any ear infection would be examined and treated promptly, as leaving it untreated can lead to hearing loss.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Chronic ear infections are likely allergy related. I recommend changing Sampson's diet. Chicken is the most common allergic protein. I would try a venison, beef, or all fish diet. You need to give the diet 2-3 months and he can not get any other foods: No table food, no milk bones, non raw hides, etc. The only treats he can get would be ones that have the new protein in it. Your Vet is the only place you can get antibiotics sadly. You can try calling them and seeing if they will prescribe something if they have seen him recently. Otherwise if you can't get him in the car I would find a mobile Vet to come to your house. I hope this helps and I wish Sampson the best!

If ear infections are left untreated, they can lead to hearing loss. Unfortunately this cannot be treated at home without prescription medication, but a vet should see you for this problem. Give your vet a call.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! The best medicine to treat an ear infection will depend on which type of infection is affecting Pepper. In general a good ear cleanser just to start by cleaning the ears is epi-otic advanced which you may obtain online. That is just to clean the ears though generally further therapy is needed dependent on what type of infection it is. This is something that can be easily determined by sampling the exudate and looking at it under the microscope. The good news is that most of the time it does respond to the right therapy. I recommend that you have Pepper evaluated by your veterinarian for this assessment and to start therapy. Good luck!

Hi, my cockapoo often suffers from ear infections & I'm pretty sure she has another one now. I would like to know which ear drops to buy. I don't really want to have to go to the vet each time as it's a fairly frequent problem. Thanks
Unfortunately effective ear drops are on prescription, but your vet could do more than one prescription so you can buy them online. The combination of Canaural (with medication) and Sancerum (it is not on prescription and used only for ear cleaning) would be a good first line treatment. Aurizon or Otomax (instead of the Canaural) are more specific products, more indicated for resistant and more difficult cases. Aurizon, Otomax and Canaural can be used for a week each time. Sancerum can be used for routine ears cleaning.

Poor Ember! If she is having difficulty with her left ear, I am worried she could have an ear infection. Unfortunately we cannot legally prescribe medications from this site, and there isn't anything OTC that can help with an ear infection. Ear infections are causing by mites, yeast, or bacteria, and the cause has to be diagnosed in order for it to be treated correctly. In addition, before putting any medication into the ear, the ear drum needs to be visualized with an otoscope to make sure the ear drum is intact. She does need to see a vet for this problem, and the sooner the better, as leaving ear infections untreated can lead to hearing loss. Please give her vet a call now to make her an appointment.
