My dog got dewormed. Is it successful with no vomit or worms?

Is it necessary that afr doing dewoming that my pup should immditly do poty or voimt?? Bcoz my dint do any of thz thing. Aftr feeding the food he hve done poop i dint found any worm .nd how do i knw that the deworming has done successfully plz hlp me brfly

No, it's not necessary for a dog to vomit or have diarrhea after being dewormed. It's a side effect but it doesn't happen to all dogs. A lot of times, the only sign of worms in dogs is eggs in the poop, which are microscopic. It will still be working even if you don't see worms in Ember's poop.

It is not uncommon for dogs to vomit after medication and generally if it is more then 2 hours after the medication should have worked. As the food was undigested it may not have been absorbed as well as anticipated and it may be worth applying a different type of spot on medication, especially if you are in a heartworm affected area. Contact your local vets office for advice on the local risks and benefits of repeating or not

Remi will likely need a few more doses of dewormer over the next few months to clear her of worms. The dewormer only kills certain life stages of the worms, so it must be given at regular intervals to kill off the rest of the worms as they mature. It is likely working, but can take a while. Make sure that Remi is getting her medication with a meal, as sometimes having a full stomach before getting deworming medication can help to reduce stomach upset, and can also help make sure the medication is absorbed properly. In some cases if there are a lot of worms in the system, dogs will have a bit of vomiting or diarrhea after deworming medication, or have a decreased appetite, but if it persists or Remi is acting lethargic, see your vet to help rule out other potential causes. There is a concern about low blood sugar and dehydration in young puppies that aren’t eating, so if Remi does not feel like eating tonight I would have her seen. If you took a stool sample five days after Bronx was given the deworming treatment and then the sample showed no signs of worms, it likely means that the deworming treatment was effective and killed all the worms. The deworming treatment starts working within hours of administration to kill the worms present.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Dewormer kills worms and it does so very effectively. I recommend that you have Emma evaluated by your veterinarian to start her on a dewormer. Intestinal worms are very easily treatable and usually clinical symptoms resolve. Good luck and have a good day!

So what if we gave him deworming and see no signs of worms what other thing could it be? And when will i see sign of worms im stools if any? Can worms make him feel like this?
Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sorry to hear about Bruce. Sometimes when pets are dewormed no dead worms are seen in the feces. This can be completely normal. Typically if worms are passed it's within 12-24 hours of the deworming dose. Intestinal worms can be very devastating in puppies not only robbing nutrition from the gut but also blood. Hookworms attach to the lining of the intestine and feed off of blood. This can be significant enough to kill a small puppy. If you add some fleas on that puppy who also suck blood, puppies can get into real trouble. So with intestinal worms, you can see low red blood cell counts (anemia), abdominal distention, low or no appetite, abdominal cramping/pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of energy/lethargy, poor skin condition, poor hair coat, shock, and even death secondary to the anemia/loss of appetite, etc. You should deworm every 3 weeks for hookworms and roundworms for at least 3-4 treatments. we have a 7wk old puppy.my husband saw worms in poop last night.. today we have been checking her stool and haven't seen any. we got her medicine to help until appt.. would we see the worms in every stool????
No, it would be highly unlikely to see worms in every stool. Worms only pass through the stool intermittently, just as they only shed their eggs intermittently. Be sure that the deworming medication that you purchased is appropriate for the type of worms that are present. If Diamond's worms resemble spaghetti, they are likely roundworms, whereas if they resemble grains of rice, they are likely tapeworms. Tapeworms can be a bit trickier to treat and will likely require prescription based dewormers from your vet. As fair warning, if Diamond has a large burden of worms, she may vomit or have diarrhea with worms present, but this is usually short-lived. I hope that all goes well!

If the worms are alive and moving, this means that the puppies need another round of dewormer - it's not uncommon for pups to need more than one round to get rid of all the parasites they may have. If they're acting normal, there's no need to rush them to an emergency vet, but I would recommend getting a dewormer from your regular veterinarian (or taking them in for an exam, if needed) tomorrow morning.

Yes, it's normal to see dead worms coming out in her poop a few days after being dewormed - this means that the medication is working. As long as she is acting normal otherwise, this shouldn't be any cause for concern :)

My dog puked after liquid dewormer (puking due to car sickness) I’m worried the dewormer wasn’t affective??
If your dog vomited more than an hour after the medication was given it is probably OK and in his system. However, if the dog vomited before an hour had passed then you will need to redose your dog with another round of dewormer. This medication is very safe and redosing should not cause a problem. My 2 and a half month old puppy had worms in his vomit this morning but no signs of worms in his poop all day
The worms in Herbie's vomit indicate he does have intestinal worms. You often don't see worms in the poop unless there is a very heavy infestation of them. The eggs are what are deposited in the feces, and those can only be seen with a microscope. Herbie needs a deworming treatment, and I recommend Panacur which you can get OTC. He will need another deworming treatment two weeks after the first to kill all the worms, and then will need one once a month until he is six months old. After that, he will need a deworming treatment every three months.
