My dog ate plastic from a roach trap and is vomiting. What now?

Luckily roach bait traps aren't very toxic to dogs, but eating the plastic would cause Lilly Mae stomach upset, leading to the vomiting. I can give you a home remedy for her to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.

    The roach bait is not a problem, it is not toxic to dogs. However the dangerous part about roach bait stations is that the dogs ingest the plastic. If the piece of plastic is big enough it may cause an intestinal obstruction. I suggest you take Lily to a vet or ER where they can give her some apomorphine to make her regurgitate her stomach contents. This is better than having to monitor her for a few days to see whether she will have an obstruction or not. In intestinal obstruction is resolved only by abdominal surgery.

Being that the packaging states the active ingredient as boric acid he will likely be fine. It doesn't sound like he ingested enough to be toxic however, he could have some gastrointestinal upset for the next few days. I suggest you feed him some bland food for 2-3 days. That being said, we always suggest a vet examine your pet if they have ingested any type of poison. It is difficult for us to say much over the internet without having examined the pet. She will likely be just fine. A small amount of raid left on a roach isn't going to cause any serious issues for your pet. At the very least she may have an upset stomach. In which case you can feed her a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese for a few days, and then slowly transition her back to her normal diet. If she doesn't seem to be recovering from the stomach upset as expected after 12-24 hrs, then its best to just haver her checked by your vet and given some supportive treatment to help her stomach settle quicker. Otherwise she should recover well and likely vomited up most of the irritant. Best wishes with your pet Leia moving forward. Take care.

I left my dog inside while I went and mowed grass and I came back there was a combat roach bait that the dog chewed up. Is there anything I can do?
The roachbait is not toxic to dogs. The only problem dogs have with the bait is the bait box if they swallow it. It could cause an intestinal obstruction or blockage. So, if Gretchen did not eat the baitstation/box, she should be alright. Seems like roach bait smells goooood to dogs, too!

Retching and coughing is usually caused by throat irritation, wound or scratch in the throat, upper airways infection, insect bite or sting, rarely by a tracheal foreign body. Most of the roach baits are not very toxic to dogs, but to confirm that we would need to know the brand name of the product Rex may have eaten. A visit at your local vets is recommended to confirm that the roach bait is not dangerous to dogs, find the cause Rex is gagging and to provide treatment as required.

My dog ate a into combat roach trap what should I do ?
combat roach traps contain roach poison which is not very toxic to dogs. Usually ingesting the container is more dangerous than the roach poison. However COMBAT suggests calling them in case your dog has ingested some of the poison: "If you’re concerned that your pet may have ingested a small amount of roach bait, Combat can help. In the event that a household pet ingested roach bait, please contact the Combat Information Helpline at 1-800-426-6228 or contact your personal veterinarian." It is likely that the roach poison causes mild stomach irritation at most. Since the bait station was not ate by your dog, there is no worry about intestinal obstruction.

In looking up this plant, I can't find any information that they are toxic to dogs, but it is possible that eating it upset her stomach. Given that Roxy isn't acting any differently and is eating, I wouldn't be too worried about her just yet. I would be more worried if she having persistent diarrhea, is vomiting frequently, and isn't eating or drinking. You can try offering her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. Should she return to normal (i.e. no vomiting or diarrhea), then she will be just fine. I would have her seen by a vet, however, if she starts vomiting more or having persistent diarrhea, or she stops eating and drinking. I hope this helps!

My beagle just ate an entire Raid Ant Baits ant trap. What do i do?
There are a variety of ant traps on the market. Most contain a small percentage of a substance poisonous for the ants, and a large percentage of a sugary or greasy substance to attract the ants to eat the poison. For instance, the packaging on Raid Ant Baits lists n-ethyl perfluorooctanesulfonamide .5% and 99.5% inert ingredients. The .5% is so small that there is no danger to your animal if ingested. Other traps contain a chemical commonly used to kill fleas and if ingested is just as benign. The inert ingredient for the Raid trap happens to be peanut butter. So of course, your dog smells a treat and tries to chew it up to get to the peanut butter! So if an ant trap is ingested, the main concern is the potential for obstruction if the object or container becomes lodged in the stomach or intestines. Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Trudy! Oh that's not good she ate all that chocolate and sugar. The good news is that white chocolate isn't toxic to dogs, but it does cause GI upset which you are seeing. The same for the sugar. I can give a home remedy to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. I agree it's likely the bone causing Lola to vomit. Dogs should never been given cooked bones because they easily break in the GI tract, leading to perforation and obstruction of the GI tract. Because she vomited the bone up, I can give you a home remedy for her to see if that helps.
