My dog has a new inch-wide spot. Is it serious if he's not distressed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chorkie | Male | neutered | 1 year and 3 months old | 7 lbs

I just noticed this on my dog it's about an inch in diameter. He is a male who is fixed 7 pounds named Skipper. He isn't showing any signs of distress. Eating and drinking normal

That almost looks like a black fly bite, but it's not the time of the year for it. It could be from an injury or another bug bite. Keep an eye on it over the weekend, and if it gets bigger, starts to bother Skipper, or doesn't go away, have him seen by a vet on Monday.
