This is an infection of the nail bed. In the meantime you can keep it disinfected with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking (if any). Antibiotics will likely to be needed, ideally a check up needs to be done earlier than 3 days to avoid any worsening and spreading.
