Why is my puppy peeing so much and having accidents in her sleep?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 26 days old | 12 lbs

I have a 13 week old Blue heeler Springer spaniel. She seems to go pee a lot which is totally fine. Except when she does she never tells us. She used to but now she doesn't even stop what shes doing and just goes. Like the other day she was playing and sat on my other dog and peed on him. Or she'll be sleeping with me and in her sleep she pees. Is there something wrong?? Or does she just do that to do it? ?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It Maggie is peeing in her sleep and doesn’t seem to notice, you’re actually dealing with incontinence which is a medical issue. It could be related to a urinary tract infection in a dog this age so I’d definitely take Maggie (and a sample of her urine) to the vet as soon as you can. Best of luck to you and Maggie!
