My cat is straining to pee, has blood, but acts normal. What's wrong?

My 7yo cat is having trouble going to the bathroom. We're undergoing a house reno in a tiny house, everything is in disarray, there is plaster dust everywhere, and we are having to move her and her sister room to room (along with their box & food/water) every other day. I noticed her frequent the box, and also found 2 small dots of blood on the floor throughout the house. She sits in the box awhile and doesn't really go much, if at all. Otherwise, she acts totally normal. Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 8 years old | 11 lbs
