You need to take Gia into a vet immediately. This gummy contains xylitol, which is highly toxic to dogs. She needs veterinary care now, this is not something that can be treated at home. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Many types of Trident gum contain xylitol. This artificial sweetener is extremely toxic to dogs because it very quickly causes hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) and liver damage. At this point, you should take Gidget to an emergency veterinarian immediately. They may or may not induce vomiting since it's been over an hour since she ingested the gum. They will also be able to closely monitor her blood glucose and liver values, while administering supportive IV fluids and medications. There are no home remedies for this situation - this is a life-threatening emergency if the gum contained xylitol. I really hope that everything goes well for Gidget!

My 45lb dog ate 250mg of xylitol. Will she be ok?
Xylitol is an artificial sweetener that is very toxic to dogs. Your dog should be seen by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER immediately. Xylitol ingestion can cause dangerously low blood sugar levels and can lead to liver failure.

If it is a ''gummy'' tablet it may cause gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting or diarrhea. The toxicity from the single components (Vitamins, mineral etc etc) depends on their concentration. Generally speaking it should be a major concern as the concentration is quite low. If there is xylitol inside the tablet that may be dangerous, and in case of ingestion, your dog needs to be seen by a veterinarian. The ingestion of xylitol or xylitol-containing products causes a rapid release of the hormone insulin, causing a sudden decrease in the dog's blood glucose. Signs to look for are: lethargy, vomiting, loss of coordination, collapse, and eventually seizures.

Hello My dad ingested 2 gummy vitamin ds and the serving size is 2 gummies at 2000IU and I was wondering if I should be worried about her eating the vitamins that she ate and she is about 70lbs
The amount of Vitamin D ingested will likely not put a dog of her weight at risk of serious toxicity. Make sure the gummies do not contain xylitol. That would be more dangerous than the Vitamin D. If they contain xylitol,seek veterinary attention immediately. Xylitol is toxic to dogs. It may cause a dangerous drop in blood sugar levels. If the gummies do not have xylitol, the worst you may see is some minor stomach upset.

Hi, My 14 year old Boston Terrier just got into a trash can and ate 2 pieces of gum from the brand "Extra". Could this be life threatening?
Yes this could be life threatening if the Extra was sugar free and contains xylitol. Xylitol is highly toxic to dogs and is fatal without treatment. Because I'm not sure if the Extra Oliver ate contain xylitol, and if you aren't sure either, the best thing to do is rush him into the vet immediately. The vet can treat him for xylitol toxicity if the gum contained it. Good luck, I hope this helps!

My dog ate 3 stale gummy bears. Will he be alright?
Most types of gummy bears should not cause any problems; however, you should check the ingredients to make sure that they don't contain [xylitol](https://www.petcoach.co/article/6-products-that-contain-xylitol/). If they don't, then Bogo should be just fine apart from some mild GI upset such as loose stool for a day or so. If they do contain xylitol, this is a more serious problem because this sweetener is toxic to dogs - so if this is on the ingredient list, I would recommend having him seen by an emergency vet right away so that they can induce vomiting and start treatment to try and prevent any problems.

my 8 month Shetland sheepdog ate half a piece of already chewed gum. It was wrigleys extra gum spearmint flavored. She seems ok should I be worried?
Check the ingredients. Xylitol is found in some sugar free gums and it is highly toxic to dogs. If Xylitol is present, have her examined quickly to start treatment asap. If Xylitol is not present, the gum should not cause a problem. I hope this helps.

Yes, taking him to the emergency vet is your best option. If he was a bigger dog that amount of chocolate may not have been harmful but since he is so small it might be causing him an issue. The gummies are not likely toxic if there is no xylitol but it is a lot of sugar.

My dog just ate some life saver gummy candies. There's no xylotol in them (which is why gummy bears are so bad) but i don't know if he should be made to throw up? He's not showing any signs of being sick but he also has epilepsy and is on phenobarbit
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! If there is no xylitol in them, there is really no risk of a severe toxicity, especially if it was just a few. These are just made of lots of corn syrup which can cause him some gastrointestinal signs such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and/or inappetence. If you do not notice any of that in the next 24 hours, he is likely going to be just fine. If you see any of these signs, have him evaluated by your veterinarian. Good luck and have a good night!
