Why did my dog's seizures suddenly stop after years of having them?

Hello :) I adopted 2 rescue dog sisters, who had been horribly abused. As early as 6 months old, one of them started having seizures. The seizures went from now and again, to, at age 2 years, monthly, and each seizure got longer and longer. I spoke to my vet, who said that she would need to do blood tests, but, because of my dogs background, they really do not like people, so I put the blood tests off. Since then, the seizures just stopped! I am, of course, thrilled, but confused!

Seizure disorders are highly unpredictable and there could be many hormonal, environmental or dietary changes which could contribute to increased or decreased frequency. Keeping a diary of changes in routine and behavior changes can be helpful but in most cases possible triggers or positive and negative factors are never identified. Keep going as you are!
