Can I spread cat parvo (FPV) to my cat after touching a stray?

Hello! I’m in Morocco and have recently come in contact with a stray cat that has Parvo and/or FPV. The locals have told me that I am now a carrier and that I will spread the disease to my cat when I return home, which could be fatal. Can you tell me if this is true?

Hi there! As long as you take normal hygiene precautions (hand-washing, etc.) this shouldn't be a problem at all :) In addition, if your cat is vaccinated, he should have good immunity to parvo/FPV.
