My dog has bloody diarrhea. What should I do and is it serious?

His been have watery steel since Saturday night and my mom said it look like he has blood in it and i don’t know what to do or give him

It could be that Tinker has diarrhea with blood in it from eating something rotten, a foreign body, parvovirus if he isn't fully vaccinated, intestinal worms, or hemorrhagic gastroenteritis among other causes. When a dog has diarrhea for over 24 hours and when there is blood present in it, it's time to see a vet. This is nothing something that should be treated at home because there can be serious and potentially deadly causes to it. I would take Tinker into a vet as soon as possible. Best of luck.

Diarrohea is never normal, the question is more if it is serious. To be honest a lot of dogs with diarrohea will have a little fesh blood from straining. Usuly diarrohea is due to gastroenteritis which is an inflamed gut and tummy because of eating something that didn't agree or infection etc. I recommend starving her for 24 hours then feed her plain chicken and rice. If she seems sick orit it doesn't start to clear take her to the vet. It would be wise to worm her as well.

Bloody diarrhea is serious, and our dog could be suffering from hemorrhagic gastroenteritis caused by eating the raw meat. When a dog has bloody diarrhea, it's always recommended to take them into a vet right away. She needs medical treatment for her symptoms, so please take her into an ER vet now. Blood in the stool, even if it seems to "go away" and come back later, is never normal. The fact that it's accompanied by diarrhea suggests colitis, or inflammation of the colon, as opposed to some type of bleeding mass in the rectum or colon. Colitis can have a number of causes, including dietary indiscretion (eating something rotten or non-food), parasites, food allergies/food sensitivities, inflammatory bowel disease, or infection. Leah may improve with a diet change, perhaps a more digestible diet specifically for gastrointestinal problems. To assume it's a "tummy issue" could be to ignore causes that are treatable, and at this point she's not only having diarrhea but she also lost her appetite. It's been three days and she's not improving, so I recommend having her seen by her vet for labwork to include parasite testing, blood work, and urinalysis for starters. Oh no, poor Murphy! This bloody diarrhea could be due to intestinal worms, GI ulcers, trauma to the GI tract, a foreign body, eating something toxic, or hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. It's quite concerning that he has been having diarrhea for over a week and there has been blood present in it frequently. Murphy has to see a vet now for this. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. My dog is having bloody diarrhea. It's really bad. When she pooped there was a lot of blood. I'm not sure what's wrong. Her stomach is making noises and she's walking around crying. How could I help her.
I would take Xina into a vet immediately. If she is pooping blooding, she could be suffering from hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, a foreign body, may have eaten something toxic, suffered trauma to the GI tract, has GI ulcers, or parvovirus if she isn't fully vaccinated. All of these causes are extremely serious and require veterinary treatment now. Please take Xina into a vet right away to diagnose what is causing her bloody diarrhea so she can be treated.

House was broken into last night he was in his room so I didn't think the people messed with him but he has Dirrehea with blood spots and vomited three times in the last 8hrs can't hold down food.
Vomiting with bloody diarrhea is a situation which requires veterinary attention. You don't mention the age of your dog but parvovirus would be a possibility in a younger dog. Other possible causes would include severe GI parasitism, gastroenteritis, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, ingestion of a foreign object, and inflammatory bowel disease. With a combination of vomiting and blood diarrhea your dog can become dehydrated quickly, so a vet visit is recommended ASAP. They may test your dog's stool sample and take an x-ray to help determine the cause of his symptoms.

Oh dear! Extremely bloody diarrhea like this is very concerning. This is often caused by an illness called HGE (hemorrhagic gastroenteritis), but it could also be due to a bleeding disorder of some kind, a severe systemic illness like liver or kidney disease, or ingestion of something toxic. Regardless of the underlying cause, this is a medical emergency - dogs with these symptoms often become much sicker and die within hours without aggressive treatment including IV fluids, antibiotics, and medication to stop the diarrhea and/or vomiting. I would recommend taking your dog to the nearest emergency vet immediately.

I’m not sure if this is diarrhea or bloody stool
Oh dear! It's hard to tell whether this is bloody diarrhea or vomit, as either one can be this color and consistency in some cases. You can try dabbing a paper towel gently around your pet's rectum to see if there are any traces of diarrhea there, as this can sometimes help to sort out where it came from. Regardless of whether this is vomit or diarrhea, it does look very concerning. If possible, I would recommend taking your pet to an emergency clinic tonight to be seen - especially if he/she is acting lethargic or not wanting to eat. Severe bloody vomit or diarrhea like this can be caused by a number of serious issues, including a bleeding stomach ulcer, HGE (hemorrhagic gastroenteritis), pancreatitis, or ingestion of something toxic. Your veterinarian can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and get your pet started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found.

I am dog sitting a standard poodle for a friend who is out of country. During a normal day, the dog goes every where with its owner. Owner has been gone 5 days. First couple days the dog had no stools, then had what appeared to be a very hard/strain
I'm sorry this dog is having these issues while you are dog sitting! Bloody diarrhea in dogs can be caused by hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, trauma to the GI tract, GI tumors, a foreign body, intestinal parasites, or eating something toxic among other causes. When a dog has bloody diarrhea, they have to see a vet immediately due to the serious causes behind it. I would take the dog into a vet now, who can diagnose what is causing his bloody diarrhea and treat him for it.

My dog seems to be having a hard time pooping. She is having a bloody and diarrhea mixture coming out. But it's not a lot it will just drip out of her butt when she tries to poop. Should I be worried? Or will it pass?
Bloody diarrhea can be a sign of significant infection or a disease called HGE. Dogs can become very sick very quickly with HGE. I would highly encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Antibiotics and/or probiotics may be recommended. Best of luck and I hope she improves soon.
