My poor cat has chronic cystitis, blood, and crystals. What can I do?

Port has had chronic cystitis. His most recenr urine sample came back with blood, crystals, and protein in the urine - this was following a several weeks hard core treatment of antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and pain meds. He's miserable. What are we missing, and is there anything I can do? Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 18 lbs
