Port has had chronic cystitis. His most recenr urine sample came back with blood, crystals, and protein in the urine - this was following a several weeks hard core treatment of antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and pain meds. He's miserable. What are we missing, and is there anything I can do?

Ongoing treatment on a day to day basis is also very important in severe cases, he needs to be on a special food for urinary disease permanently, i would also recommend taking a supplement called Cystophan on a regular basis, these two things can make a huge difference. Stress is known to be the main cause of cystitis in cats, for this reason it is important to do everything you can to reduce the stress factor, this can be by changing things in his environment, but also with supplement and devices such as Zylkene, Valerian or Feliway diffuser.
