My dog won't eat, acting scared. Did a sugar cookie upset his stomach?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 10 years and 4 months old

My dog is refusing his food and it’s almost like he is acting scared of me. He ate sugar cookie off the table last night and I told him “no” could this be it? Could the cookie be bothering his stomach?

They can hide and withdrawn if they do not feel well. I doubt at his age it is from you correcting him. i would be worried his stomach is upset or hurting that is causing him to not feel well and not eat. If vomiting starts or diarrhea is noted, then I would have him checked by your vet. You can try to feed chicken broth or bland chicken and rice to help with his stomach. If there is no improvement by tomorrow, I would get it checked
