My cat's eyelid injured after a fight. What should I do for his eye?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered

My cat has been in a fight with another male cat and his eyelid is injured. Looks like a claw caught his eyelid by the way it is bulged out and an extended cut from a slash. Thank goodness his beautiful eye is not damaged! I heard that squeezing water with a drop of saline would help, is this correct? Also what else can I do?

Poor Boy! I would just use some artificial tear to help flush it out. Since it was from a cat fight wound, I would have your vet take a look at it. These type of wounds commonly get infected and need some type of antibiotics to prevent it from not healing or getting worse. I hope this helps and so thankful that his eye is okay!
