My dog's eye is swollen. Should I worry, or will the swelling go down?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Female | spayed | 1 year and 2 months old | 45 lbs

After getting home after this very rainy day, I noticed that my dogs right eye looked odd. I felt around, and the upper area around her eye was swollen. Will the swelling go down soon, or could this be a big problem and we need to go to the vet?

If you are unable to see her eye or she is holding her eye closed, then i would get it check to make sure there is no damage there. If it is isolated to the eye lid, then you can try some benadryl and if it is not better by morning then take her to the vet.
