You So me and my ex shared custody of our dog Rico he is 3 years old now and my ex recently passed away on Saturday i have our dog now but is there anything I can do to help my dog because i feel he knows. Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 4 months old | 70 lbs

First off, I'm very sorry you lost your ex! It must be hard on you, so please accept my condolences for your loss. In terms of Rico, the best thing you can do for him is give him lots of love. I agree that he may know your ex is gone, and he probably is reacting to your emotions as well in terms of the loss. Spend a lot of time loving on him, playing with him, and giving him a ton of attention. This will help him through this tough time. While dogs do mourn, it typically doesn't last long, but I always recommend extra special attention when someone important from their life is gone.
