It could be that Kilo has intestinal worms. Those are common in puppies and can lead to a big stomach. If he isn't up to date on his deworming treatments, I recommend getting him one. Panacur is a good brand, and it's a three day course of treatment. You will need to give him another course of treatment two weeks after the first ends to kill all the worms. Then one every month until he is six months of age, and after that he should be dewormed once every three months. Best of luck, I hope this helps.

Intestinal worms are a common cause of an enlarged stomach in puppies, and it would cause her poop to be soft. Kirimi will need a deworming treatment, and I recommend giving her Panacur. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what you mean that she has "many wounds like around her," so if you could please post again with more detail about that, it would be appreciated :-)

Hi Si! Congrats on your new puppy Sharas. Intestinal worms are very common in young puppies, and that could be the cause of his diarrhea and having to poop as often. Lots of worms can cause gas and a big belly as well. I'm not sure if he has been dewormed, but if he has not, he will need to be as soon as possible. I recommend Panacur, which you can get at a pet store or your vet's clinic. It's a three dose course of treatment, and you will need to give another course of treatment two weeks after the first finishes to kill all the worms. He should then be dewormed monthly until he is six months of age, and after that should get a deworming treatment every three months. His food could be a source of his problems as well if you have changed his diet from what he was having previously. He should only be eating a high quality puppy formulated food, but you can try a home remedy to see if that helps his issues. Withhold food for 8 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat c

Hello and welcome to Boop by Petco. Dewormers will treat different types of worms depending on which dewormer is used. If you feel Percy's stomach is bloated, you can get a fecal sample checked for eggs and which type, to determine if he has worms and what type. If he is eating and pooping and playing normally, you are safe to just wait and deworm on the 16th, however if he is vomiting, having diarrhea, or seems weak and tired, then I would get him checked by a vet and try a different dewormer. It sounds like your pup has roundworms, and that would cause him to be constipated. He will need a deworming treatment. I recommend giving him Panacur. You can get it OTC. He will need another deworming treatment two weeks after the first to kill all the worms, and after that, he should receive a deworming treatment every month until he is six months old, and then one every three months after that.

Hi, Puppies can have what we call a "pot belly". In many puppies the pot belly appearance noticeable after a meal but it will decrease in size after a couple of hours. In cases where the pot belly persist in puppies and does not decrease in size we consider the most common cause is heavy worm infestation which will require to have your puppy to have a series of de-worming treatment at 2 weeks intervals at least twice (with heavy infestation I will recommend more than twice). Other cause of distended abdomen is fluid built up (ascites) which warrant a veterinary investigation. I would suggest to start immediately with treatment using a de-wormer recommended by your vet. I would agree those look like worms in Meeko's stool. Some puppies need multiple deworming to finally kill all the worms in their intestines. Depending on what type of product you are using, this can be safe to give as often as once a week. Look on the package for directions or post a photo of it and address it with another post. Be aware that humans can get worms from their pets so make sure to be washing your hands well after playing with Meeko, before you eat and don't let him lick you in the mouth, If you have further concerns about worms, contact your human doctor. Yes, intestinal worms can cause a puppy's tummy to rumble, and she certainly can pass them along to your other cats and dogs. The fat belly is an indication of worms, and if you got the deworming treatment from the shelter, more than likely it kills roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms. Tapeworms require a medication called praziquantel to kill, and that is available by prescription only from the vet. To keep your dogs and cats from getting worms themselves, you will need to give them deworming treatments as well. I recommend Panacur, which you can get from your vet's office. I also recommend Drontal, which contains the praziquantel I mentioned, and that is available by prescription from the vet. You will need to give your new puppy and your other animals another deworming treatment two weeks after the first to kill all the worms. After that, your cats and dogs should be dewormed every three months if they are over six months of age, and the new puppy should be dewormed monthly

Poor guy! A big tummiy can be caused by a lot of things but in a puppy it is suspectd taht he may have a large intestinal parasite load. I would suggest getting him dewormed and having his stool tested for worms through your vet. Another possible cause is a rare congential abnormality, which can be detected usually with an abdominal x-ray. I hope that your pet Bebo doesn't have any kind of congential problem and just has a large worm load causing his abnormally large belly. Best wishes and take care!

It sounds like Diesel is doing well, but puppies with large bellies can often have intestinal parasites. They are very common in puppies. I would have him checked out by your vet for his puppy shots, and they will likely want to check a stool sample for parasites and potentially prescribe a dewormer.

What a great question and I applaud you for taking a proactive approach to your pets healthcare. If your puppy only has intestinal parasites, then the potbelly and the diarrhea and the dead worms are normal for the post deworming treatment period. In order to find out whether all of the parasites are gone, you should take in a fecal sample about two weeks after the July 1 treatment date and have the vet clinic do a fecal analysis. Sometimes they need to deworm again two weeks after the first treatment. One last recommendation is that make sure you have your veterinarian start you on a monthly heartworm preventative because it also helps prevent intestinal parasites like worms.
