My kitten meows when pooping. Is this normal or a sign of pain?

Hi so I’ve had my 9 week kitten for a bout a week now and ever since we brought him home he meows every time he goes number 2. Is that normal or could It mean he’s in pain? He eats everyday and he goes number two regularly it’s just every time he’s digging for a spot to go in his litter box he’s meows

It could be a sign that it's a bit painful for Louie to pass feces. Try adding in a teaspoon of canned pumpkin puree to his food to see if that helps. Also feed him some canned for too because if he is constipated, the number one cause of it in cats is dehydration. If these methods do not help, have him seen by a vet next week. I got a male kitten 2 days ago. He’s about 2 months. Every time he poops he meows. Is that normal?
Not necessarily normal. However, look at the feces to ensure it is solid. If it is loose it could indicate that he has some intestinal parasites and in need of a proper deworming. Most kittens are dewormed regularly starting at around 6-8 weeks of age anyway, so its a good idea to get this started. Also he is due for starting his kitten vaccinations, so its best to schedule him an appt with your vet soon. If he has abnormallly hard stools, then its best to try to increase his water intake by offering wet/canned food or using a pet water fountain that encourages more water intake. Hello one of my two months old kitten poops with difficulty sometimes she screams and I can see a part of her poop stuck into her then she gets it out with difficulty and lots of pain what's wrong and what can I do plz help
If she is experiencing a lot of pain than she should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. She may be just having some constipation issues but a vet could check to make sure she doesn't have a congenital malformation and/or problems with her hips or pelvis. If it is just constipation than you could add a teaspoon of canned pumpkin to her diet to increase the fiber and see if that helps.

my kitten is just starting to use the litter box & i wanted to know if the poop looked normal? also he appears to be in pain every time he poops... what should i do? (his mother passed :( )
This looks like a perfectly normal kitten poop. He is probably not in pain but needs to tell everybody that he is having a poop. Like children.....The feces do not look to dry, therefore I do not think he is in pain.

My cat cries when he poops and can't seem to dig a big enough hole. He starts going before he's done with the hole.
Poor Max! It could be that he's constipated, causing him to cry when trying to poop, and he's pushing so hard to get the poop out that it starts to come before he has a chance to finish digging his hole. Constipation in cats can be caused by intestinal parasites, low fiber in the diet, a foreign body, GI polyps, GI tumors, or anal sac impaction. He could also have irritable bowel disease, which causes painful defecation. I would try putting a teaspoon of canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) in his food twice a day to see if that helps with his pooping. If it does not, then I would have Max seen by a vet in 24-48 hours.

My cat Wednesday always meows really loud when she uses the litter box and it sounds like she's in pain but I can't see what's wrong.
I recommend to have her examined then. Vocalization in the box could indicate pain. if it happens while urinating, it could be a bladder infection. If it happens during a BM, it could be a too dry or sticky bowel. Since she can't talk, you need to have her examined. I hope this helps.

If Kiki hasn't gone potty by now (I see that you posted this two days ago), it's time to take her into the vet. As for making noises when eating, yes it's normal for a small kitten to do. I hope this helps!

Thank you for using Boop by Petco! Abnormal behavior while urinating can be a sign of a serious condition such as urethral blockage or bladder stones. This condition, if allowed to progress, can even be life threatening. I recommend having Cornelius seen by a vet as soon as possible - he should be seen right away if he has blood in his urine, begins urinating in abnormal areas, or you note that he is straining to urinate (leaves only small amounts of urine after spending longer in the litter box). I hope all is well with Cornelius!

Our 8 week old kitten Trixie, has been crying most of the morning. She is calm for a few minutes then she will get down on the floor and go to the litter box and start to cry and either barley go or not at all. I found mucus on her butt and private.
Poor baby! I am worried that she is having diarrhea and an increased urgency to go or severe constipation. Since she is so uncomfortable and so tiny and young, I would strongly recommend to have her seen by your vet as soon as possible. Your vet will be able to determine the cause and get her started on the proper meds to help her feel better. They will also be able to give her fluids if needed. I hope this helps and she starts to feel better really soon!

Oh no, poor Bella! It is concerning that she is appear to have trouble pooping and/or peeing. I would try mixing in a teaspoon of canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) with her food, and feeding her canned food to get more moisture in her. If she is constipated, dehydration is the most common cause of it in cats. Continue to monitor here and if she is still having trouble pooping, have her seen by a vet tomorrow. If she has trouble urinating, strains to urinate, nothing is coming out when she tries to pee, or she cries when trying to urinate, you will need to take her into a vet immediately because these signs are a medical emergency.

my 9week old female kitten refuses to use the litter tray so does her buisness around the house. but what is troubling me is her pooping. she screams everytime she pushs it out. she is on soft foods drinks water and kitten milk.
There can be a couple of reasons why White Claw will not use the litter box. Cats like a very clean box, and the litter should be scooped every day with the litter itself being changed once a week. If the box isn't clean enough for her, she won't use it. Cats can also be very picky about the type of litter used. If you changed litter recently, she may not like it and won't want to use it. Don't use scented litters, cats typically don't like the scent and will not use the box if it smells funny to them. I would use an unscented litter only. The litter box itself may be a problem. It could be too small for her to turn around in, or if it has a cover, she may not like using the box under a cover. Conversely, if it doesn't have a cover, she may not like going to the bathroom in the open. Cats also won't use a litter box that is too close to their food and water sources, so if the litter box is close to those, she won't use it. Finally, there could be a medical issue behind her n
