Kitten constipated, only peeing after stimulation. When to see vet?

Yesterday night I took my baby kitten was constipated so I took her to a pet hospital they said they stimulate her I do it every time she eat but all she do is pee should I take her back or keep trying

I'm assuming you are feeding her a kitten formula, so I would try diluting it a bit with some water to see if that helps her pass feces. If that doesn't help, then yes I would take her back into the vet. Best of luck.

I would dilute the formula with a little water, but I don't recommend adding oil. See if the diluted formula works, and if it doesn't, you will need to take Cali into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

You can now feed her 4-5 times daily and let her drink as much as she wants. There is only so much room in that little stomach so she will stop when it is full. You should stimulate her anus and vulva after every feeding to make her eliminate. If you have not done this so far, it will probably help with normalizing the stool. Stimulation: take a cloth or paper towel, wet it with warm water and gently rub JJ's anus and vulva like a mommy's tongue would lick it. This should trigger urination and defecation. Wash off afterwards with warm water and dry. It is better not to have to give enemas routinely, because the body might get used to it and then loses the ability to eliminate without the help.

Hi, my one week old kitten is constipated. I took it to the vet and he prescribed one drop of pedriatic dimethicone every 8 hours and longer belly massages. However, he is struggling with hard stool at the moment and I can feel (his belly gets hard)
Offer a bit more water, KMR or diluted PediaLyte. This will maintain or improve hydration. A dab of olive oil around his back end may help to ease the passage of stool. Position him on his belly when feeding and burp him as you would a baby afterwards. Stimulate him until he urinates and defecates after each feeding. Keep him warm also. A chill may slow everything down and make it difficult for him to defecate.

We have just recently got our kitten she's 6 weeks old she's peeing but not pooping and it's nearly been 2 days
Sometimes stress can cause constipation. Make sure she is drinking plenty of water. Canned food is good to prevent constipation; you can also add a little water or chicken/tuna broth to the canned food to get her to drink more water. She is still young, so you may be able to stimulate her to have a bowel movement by rubbing her anus gently with a warm wet washcloth. If she does not have a bowel movement in 24 hours, I recommend that she see a vet before the stool gets too dry and hard.

I'm assuming you are giving them a kitten formula. I'd tried diluting it a bit with water for the two kittens who aren't pooping to see if that helps them pass feces. If this doesn't help them pass feces, then I would say it is necessary for them to see the vet. They should be passing feces at least once or twice a day, and if another day goes by without them pooping and you've tried diluting their formula, then I would start to worry. As for the two that are pooping, do not dilute their formula. Best of luck, I hope this helps! How lovely of you to look after them :-)

I would keep his feeding schedule the same so he doesn’t get dehydrated and weak from a low blood sugar. If you have a recital thermometer sometimes gently inserting this can help remove poop and stimulate them to go more. Your vet can also pass a fecal loop or prescribe a stimulant or softener to help the kitten go

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Kachie! Constipation is serious in pediatric puppies and kittens. Since it has been a week I urge you to take Katchie to the Vet and see if an enema is needed. Kitten milk replacer/formula commonly causes GI problems, either diarrhea or constipation. After every bottle feeding the kitten needs to be stimulated with a warm wet soft washcloth over the anus and genitals. I always recommend bottle fed kittens be weaned sooner, around 3 weeks. So I would start offering canned kitten food mixed with formula and decrease bottle feeding. By 5 weeks she should be off formula and eating kitten food 100%. I wish Kachie the best!

I haves 3 week old kitten who has not pooped in 2 days. She's drinking milk fine and is very active can she be constipated?
MIracle is REALLY cute! You could check to see if she is dehydrated by pinching up the skin between her shoulder blades. If it is slow to go back to normal then she is dehydrated which could be contributing to the lack of feces. I would have your vet take a look at her if she is dehydrated so they can give her a little fluids if needed. If she is well hydrated then I would continue to feed her every 3 hours and be sure to use a warm wet cloth at every meal to rub around her anus. This will help to stimulate her bowel movements. If she still hasn't pooped within the next 24-36 hours then I would have your vet look at her. With her being so small, I don't want to give her a bunch of stuff over the counter as they can be quite sensitive. I hope this helps!

Hi, thabks forcusing Boop by Petco! Kitten formula can be her constipating. I recommend bottle fed kittens start weaning by 3 weeks of age due to this. Start mixing the formula in with canned kitten food for a week, gradually decreasing the amount over a week. Then over next week if so add in dry food. This should help the stools. If it has been more the 2 days without a stool he should be seen before Thursday. Good luck!

Young kittens will normally toilet frequently, often up to 6 times a day but I would be very concerned by repeated trips to the tray without producing anything as this may indicate an obstruction or severe spasm and inflammation which is quite common in cats and can be triggered by stressful events such as moving house. I recommend an urgent vet check to determine if he is constipated or bladder pain and to prescribe the most appropriate treatment and ongoing management to prevent recurrence. In the meantime I would try to encourage fluids with flavoured water (freshly boiled chicken broth or a little cod liver oil on the water bowl) and provide wet food to maximise fluid intake which can help soften stool and flush the bladder
