My dog is sick, vomiting, has red poop, no appetite. Is it blood?

My dog, a Chihuahua, has been sick for a couple days. She has been throwing up and having diarrhea. Today her throw up and poop are red, and I can’t be sure if it’s Blood or not. She’s barely drinking and has no appetite. She is very depressed

If Ellie's throw up and poop are both red, I would be very concerned that it is blood. It's quite serious when a dog is both vomiting and pooping blood, and that shows she is quite ill. She needs immediate vet care, I would consider all her symptoms a medical emergency. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Poor Ellie - it sounds like she is really not feeling well! It is very concerning that she vomited blood, as this may be a sign of ingestion of a toxin, a foreign body obstructing the intestines, or a torsion of the intestines. She should be seen by a veterinarian immediately - she may need to be stabilized and have blood work and x-rays taken to figure out what is going on. My dog ate a small animal that she vomited up yesterday. She threw up blood and the animal. Since this time she has vomited brown liquid several times . She will not eat or drink. She is very lethargic
Poor Ellie! The animal she ate may have given her an infection, or have previously ingested rat poison (which caused it to be easier to catch). Rat poison prevents blood from clotting normally, so bleeding internally can occur. I recommend having Ellie seen by her vet right away. There are emergency clinics that are open 24 hours/day in most towns/cities. I hope all is well!

Why is my bichón frise pooping and throwing up blood
Vomiting blood is serious. The GI upset could be due to many conditions including eating something she shouldn't have, bacterial over growth, parasites (worms and giardia), poison, a bleeding disorder, pancreatitis, cancer or intestinal blockage. I recommend to have your pup examined by the veterinarian today. Try to remember to take in a stool sample. The doctor will check her for parasites and bacterial over growth and other diagnostics may be recommended as well. She needs the correct diagnosis in order to receive appropriate care. She also needs medications and possible fluids. I hope Coco starts feeling better quickly! Please feel free to post any additional questions!

My baby sky as of early morning time yesterday was hiding from me and started puking. Then later on had some blood looked like fruit punch. And her heart went fast like she was scared. Then later that day started squiring dark red diarrhea and still
If Sky has vomiting and diarrhea she needs to see a vet. Unfortunately her symptoms are very vague and could be from any illness or disease process. If Sky is a puppy I would be very worried about parvovirus. If she is an adult my first guess would be hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Either way, she needs to see a vet. Please take her as soon as possible.

My chihuahua was perfectly fine yesterday. She ate some food and threw up and the throw up was normal. I took her outside later and once she came in she threw up and it had little tiny specs of blood in it. She has thrown up a couple more times since
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Vomiting can occur from many conditions such as foreign body ingestion and obstruction, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. Blood in the vomit makes it more severe as that can be present with like gastrointestinal ulcers which could be happening as well. I recommend that you have Chica evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start her on medications to make her feel better. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. Good luck and have a good day!

It sounds as Mila is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet urgently, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

My dog has always had a sensitive stomach, but today she has been vomited 5 times, usually just frothy mucus but now there’s a streak of blood in her vomit and she has pooped bright red blood and mucus.
It sounds as Chili is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

It's quite serious that Sara hasn't eaten since last Saturday, and it's also serious that she may be pooping and/or vomiting blood. She has to see a vet immediately. She could have a foreign body, may have gotten into something toxic, or could be suffering from hemorrhagic gastroenteritis among other causes. Her symptoms are a medical emergency, please take Sara into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see her now.

My dog vomited a red tinged substance that I’m afraid may be blood. Since it is after hours I can’t take him in anywhere. He seems totally fine, playful even. I’m just scared for him.
Thank you for using Boop by Petco! I can definitely see that Koda's vomit is reddish in color and has some red flecks in it. It is possible that the vomit has blood in it, though I would not expect it to have flecks in it. It is possible that Koda ate something that was red/pink in color that made his vomit this color. However, even the possibility of blood in vomit is cause for concern as this can be caused by stomach ulcers, foreign bodies, or certain toxins. I recommend keeping a very close eye on Koda, and having her examined immediately if this happens again or your believe you are seeing something that looks like frank blood or dark coffee grounds in her vomit. She should also be seen immediately if you think there is a chance that she may have eaten something she shouldn't have or has gotten into human medications. Until she can be seen by a vet tomorrow, I recommend not giving her any food and only offering small amounts of water. There are emergency clinics in most cities that
